Where to do the LINX surgery

Hi guys,

I have GERD for couple of years and the medicine doesn't seem to help. I feel heartburn everyday and after some research online I want to move on with LINX.

I am from Vietnam and LINX is not here yet. Do you guys know nearby countries that I can do the LINX surgery. There will be lots of tests before I can do the surgery so it would be good not to travel so far.

Hello Tien & welcome to Healing Well. You have asked a very broad question that none of us can really answer. Of course here in the US there are drs that can do this particular procedure. What I will point out is the drs here would run appropriate testing to to see if you are a candidate for this surgery. Then this is the questions of how you intend on paying for such surgeries. Paying out of pocket will cost thousands of dollars plus the expenses of staying here.

My only other thought is perhaps doing some online checking for countries close to you to see if this procedure is offered.

Hi Susie,

How much time it normally takes in the US and how much cost to do this operation. I can do one trip and stay in the US for couple of weeks, would that be enough.

I have done online searching but couldn’t figure out where nearby they do it.

I will have to pay out of the pocket but if I can afford it, I am willing to do.

You might want to ask your own doctor about suggestions for other counties/surgeons that do the Lynx procedure. There's no way to predict the timeline for having tests done, consultations with surgeon, scheduling, surgery and recovery.
