Gerd eased when sick with virus or flu???

I have been suffering with chronic gerd for years. I also have Barret’s Esophagus. I have been sick with a virus or flu and have been taking an antibiotic and OTC relief meds and I have not had gerd! Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know why? Thanks.

It's likely your diet is far more simplified on account of the flu. Of course, sometimes antibiotics will help any lingering low level stomach infections too. Go easy with re-introducing offending foods as you transition to a full diet and maybe, you can just contain it that way. Happy to hear you have relief. Speedy recovery from the flu!
