Hey folks, I have started a part 2 of this post since it was up to 10 pages. When we get threads that long they can become difficult to navigate & they tend to go wonky as HW is using an older format.
Please continue posting. Thanks.

Hi Chad,
I’m 9 days out from Linx procedure and hernia repair. Your advice on farting does have merit, but sometimes gas releases in its own time! 😂 I have had less nausea since my last post, but I’ve had trouble with feeling a tightening, discomfort when swallowing. A few times I’ve had to spit up and start over with eating which started on day 5. Like you, water is tough to get down. Small sips work best. Your advice for mashed potatoes was golden. I mixed small pieces of turkey in the potatoes for Christmas dinner. I’ve eaten mostly yogurt, applesauce, cabbage, and mashed potatoes. I’ve had cheesecake and shortbread
cookies without issues. The russet potatoes go down easier than the red skinned potatoes. I’ve lost a good 8 pounds, but the swelling still makes it uncomfortable to button my pants. I weighed 127 before surgery, so I’m down to 119. I hope I don’t lose much more weight. I over did it Christmas Day and was very sore that night and feeling chills without fever. I woke up about
3:00 in the morning totally drenched in sweat. I had to get up and change. I also want to share that I’ve also experienced a bit of depression since this surgery that I can only compare to the depression I felt after both c-sections deliveries of my children. Maybe the night sweating and depression are more related to anesthesia clearing the body? I’ve certainly had moments where I’ve wondered if it was worth major surgery (which was was sold off as a minor outpatient procedure). But I’m no longer having difficulty breathing, or coughing until my head hurts. The bad taste I kept in my mouth is gone. I’m trying to stay optimistic, but recovery is tougher than anticipated. Thanks to all who have shared experiences. I’ve read through the first 10 pages twice to arm myself for what is ahead.

Hi Chad, your last few updates scare me a little. one post you kind of regret getting it done, then the next post you flip flop
I hope you feel differently now.

Hi Chad,
I've been reading through your thread here and I am about
4 months out from LINX surgery back in October 2018 The surgery and the recovery went well. Some trouble with swallowing and bloating for a couple months, but no major issues. My biggest concern is that I appear to be having reflux symptoms late at night worse than I ever had before. I read in your posts that you initially had trouble with acid reflux after the surgery and they seemed to have gone away. When I first had the surgery I was having trouble with bloating, gas, and some associated reflux so bad, that I continued taking my PPI medication periodically to reduce symptoms. However, I was concerned that the problems I was having were a result of acid rebound, so since about
mid January 2019, I have been off PPIs entirely. I definitely had some acid rebound which I think has gotten better, but I am definitely still having reflux. What was your experience with this and how long off the meds before you didn't have symptoms anymore? I've been on PPIs for about
10 years, so I'm hoping this is just a transition period, but I'm quite concerned the LINX device is not going to work. Thanks!

Hi I had the Linx surgery December 10th. I don't have the chronic cough anymore like I used to but I have an awful lot of gas still I wondered if you had any of that on top of everything else that's going on with you I hope you're feeling better than you did when you posted this
