I am considering LINX surgery but wanted to know if anyone had success for NERD. My symptoms are burping all day long, pain referring into right shoulder and side of neck, chest pain at times and sometimes pain across my back, under my ribs and down my arms. It never let's up despite now eating a very bland diet ( chicken, rice, dried, toast, Rice Krispies.
I have been this way for 2.5 years. Have tried various PPI doses, ranitidine and motillium. 150mg ranitidine works for about 1 hour but then nothing, I am allowed to take up to 12 a day but this isn't enough.
I have seen 3 gastroenterologists and have been diagnosed with visceral hypersensitivity(NERD). I have had been tested for SIBO, 2 PH manommetries (DEmeester score of 10), but episodes linked to weakly acid), 2 endoscopies (both fine) MRI and ultrasound for stones (gallbladder removed 4 yrs ago). Also a barium swallow which revealed a small sliding hernia, which is seen as irrelevant and was not seen in either endoscopy.
I have spoken with the LINX people whom will perform the op but do not know if it will be a success. I would love to hear from anyone who has the same diagnosis and had success with LINX.
Many thanks
Donna
