Folks,
I'm curious if anyone has had a wrap re-do and how your recovery went. I have heard the second surgery is much more difficult than the first.
I have a recurring hiatal hernia and it is believed to be "stuck" instead of "sliding". I have shed 25-30 pounds after gaining probably 90 after my surgery over time in 2013 in hopes of helping myself improve.
Has anyone else had anything similar to this experience? I'm just afraid I'll be like this forever. GI doc says shedding the weight isn't guaranteed to fix me, but it is the best option. The surgeon agrees and wants to avoid a re-do.
Edit: Also forced into intermittent fasting. I eat between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and that's it until the next day. If I eat in the evenings or at night, I truly feel poorly the next day as if my body is hungover. GI doctor says I have "significant" reflux. I am much worse than I ever was before the Nissen in 2013. Thanks,
John
