LPR, GERD Or What??? New member.

Hi there! New to the forum.
I am a 36 year old male from Canada.I was diagnosed a long time ago with having gerd. Heartburn was the main culprit that only really bothered me. It seemed to have dissapeared over the last 5 or more years with only the occasional heartburn here and there. (Used to be daily)
My real issue started maybe a couple months ago. I first started waking up with a bit of a sore throat , thought maybe it was allergies as I suffer from them and get post nasal drip and thought nothing of it. It then progressed into an issue of when I would wake up and take a deep breath, it would somewhat hurt but then after that I was fine until the next day where it would repeat itself.
I then started getting insomnia. I would start to fall asleep and find myself jolting awake from a sensation of something in my throat , maybe post nasal drip or maybe my uvula sticking to my throat??
All this time I was eating regular meals with no issues , maybe a tick of heartburn here and there.
The last week has left me exhausted, I had a bad migraine which in turn led me to vomit about 6 times. After that episode I noticed my digestion wasnt right. I would get really bloated after a meal and progressively got worse, which in turn I had to eat less. Lots of belching throughout the day and at night I would find myself with a gnawing stomach pain and barely able to sleep with the same type of jolts etc I was getting with my first insomnia issues. I am now down to eating soups and smoothies as I feel like it is hard to swallow. I dont have much if any throat pain but it feels like I get so full easily and something is in my throat after a meal. I feel like it is also difficult to swallow as well.
I'm exhausted and have not been able to return to work as of yet. I seen my Dr. who said it was probably a gerd flare up and prescribed me PPIs which we knew never worked the first time. I tried some gaviscon to help the bloating as another recommendation but I'm not sure it did anything?
I'm wondering if this is LPR by chance?
I forgot to mention I had been stressed out for a while before all of this.
I also suffer from Anxiety too...
I have no appetite and I'm exhausted and have not returned to work at all this week and I'm afraid I'll have to go on medical leave.
I dont like my wife and kids seeing me in this type of condition nor myself.
Any help would be wonderful as our socialist medical system here is a bunch of crap 😞

Oddly enough I forgot to mention I had been diagnosed with EoE however they neve really did more for me reading that...is EoE cause by food sensitivity or food allergies?? Seasonal allergies??
How long do the symptoms last from EoE and how can we make them better??

I'm sorry you are have really hit a rough patch. Yes stress/anxiety can cause/make your symptoms seem worse. I always suggest keeping a food diary to try and figure out your triggers. You can try an anti-gas medication containing simethicone for the bloating. I would try taking OTC Pepcid at bedtime to see if that gives you some relief. I may have missed it in your post, but when was your last endoscopy? We are not medical professionals on this Forum, but it sounds like it could be gastritis. Also, acid reflux can give you the symptoms of a sore throat. I'm sorry, but I don't have any experience with LPR, the others can offer you better suggestions for you on that topic.

Does anyone also get the feeling off butterflies with their stomach pains? I usually have this feeling at night and in the morning..the pains aren't severe more like a dull burn .

Ok so my recommendation is broccoli sprout/seed powder for the reflux. Reflux is caused by h pylori bacteria. Also H pylori can cause an immune response which is the eosinophil infiltration which is likely what is causing the inflammation of the esophogus and the difficulty swallowing and things. Small appetite is caused by mycobacterium which is killed with garlic. Mycobacterium also cuases "jumpiness" -like if someone scares you you are extra spooked you likely have mycobacterium. So in this case I would take broccoli sprout powder and garlic powder. Garlic also usually helps with heartburn. Also h pylori dieoff is what causes migranes.

Has anyone had Linx surgery for Reflux symptoms? I am looking for information on the post operative course and what foods work best in the weeks following the surgery.

Sounds a bit like slow stomach emptying, Gastroparesis which is my issue after fundlopication surgery . There can be many causes of this but it is a possibility!
