Difficulty swallowing

Hey all. So, I recently posted about acid reflux and shortness of breath and wanted to give an update. A Barium swallow test apparently showed dysphagia (difficulty swallowing). My GI doc thinks I may have a type of esophageal dysmotlity called Achalasia.. It takes a few swallows to get food and drinks to go down. The doctor's leaning toward it being more of an upper esophagus problem, but we'll have a better idea after some tests. Next Thursday I'll be doing an esophageal manometry and then 24 hr impedance pH monitoring. Not looking forward to this, but am hoping for some more answers. Btw, I hadn't really noticed a swallowing problem until recently.. Started becoming more obvious pretty quickly. Anyway, I'll give another update soon. Maybe this will help someone else with similar issues..

Have you been tested for Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)? I was diagnosed with it this past July after trying for years to find answers which could explain my swallowing issues.

Good luck with your tests. Don't sweat them too much. They're more annoying than anything else.

No I haven't been tested yet for EoE. I'm definitely exploring everything though. We'll see what happens with these tests tomorrow and Friday then go from there. Thanks, I appreciate the reply.
