Hello,
I'm just starting my second week post nissen and struggling with depression from my diet. I been trying ensure/boost and the eventually go right thru me. Does anyone have any recommendations? How are you suppose to poop if you don't eat solid food? Everything starts to taste the same. Any Suggestions would be helpfulsmile

I just replied to your other post, but there's no need to be depressed about your diet and it's only been a week. Your surgeon should have explained to you about your dietary limitations, post-surgery. I followed the UPMC Post-Nissen Diet.

Citrucel is a bulk forming fiber that can keep bowel movements regular. Unlike Metamucil, it is fully water soluble and it doesn't ferment or cause bloating. Given that it keeps its moisture content throughout bowel transit, it can help to prevent constipation and be helpful post surgery. It can be taken one to three times per day with or without food.

I am 14 day’s post op my second fundoplication surgery and have ton of pain that has started again. The pain is above my belly button up to the top of the stomach/diaphragm area. I am wondering if food may be stuck and if it is will it go down?

It may be trapped gas, try taking an anti-gas medication containing simethicone.

You may want to start your own topic, the Board is very slow and it may get you more responses.
