Gastroparesis 4 years following a Nissen Fundoplication

I have been wondering if others had this illness following the Fundoplication surgery, apparently due to damage to the vagus nerve. I now have a whole other disease that is quite uncomfortable. I went to the best GI surgeon at a university, and now I can't gain weight, don't have an appetite, and have chronic constipation. What do I do? When I first heard "I needed" the fundoplication surgery 10 years ago, I waited because the literature indicated that people don't live long after the surgery, and "there weren't a lot of patients left in the study to follow up on." I know 10 years is a long time ago, and things change. HELP!

Interesting that this would develop this long after the initial surgery. Did you have anything like this happen in the past, or is this the first complication from the surgery you have endured? I ask because I am having symptoms very much like gastroperisis 6 months after roux en y surgery for bile reflux/sphincter of oddi dysfunction. Curious how you came to this diagnosis......gastric emptying test? Or for the vagus nerve.......how to find out if this has been damaged. I am scheduled for a couple of tests to see what is happening but due to our current state of affairs all this in on hold to make room for the corona deal. Before my surgery I was having good luck with metoclopramide to alleviate my symptoms, but eventually the side effects were too problematic.
