BRAVO test gone bad ?

I had Bravo placed two days ago and I must say it's not pleasant at all! The doctor said it will feel uncomfortable but it's downright painful. Even swallowing saliva causes unbelievable pain. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to have it detach earlier than 5 days? Any specific foods? I need this gone so I can have a decent night of sleep. The reading has been recorded, so I don't need it in me anymore.

I don't think there is much you can do as far as trying to have the capsule detach sooner. I didn't experience anything other than mild discomfort and was told it would be approximately 7-10 days until it dislodged, and I believe mine was there for about 10 days.

Sorry I couldn't offer you any suggestions.

Mine detached at day 4 but I had to force it out by eating bread and steak. I had bad pain from it, so I needed it out. Now just waiting for the results. Thanks Sharon šŸ˜ƒ

I just completed the 48 hour Bravo test to evaluate GERD, In all honesty I almost cancelled the test after reading all of the horrendous reviews and problems. My gastroenterologist re-assured me that he had placed over 300 and only had to remove one for pain.

Thankfully, it was really no problem at all. My chest seemed a little sore the evening he placed it but that rapidly resolved. Absolutely NO pain on swallowing, or any strange sensations. I had no sensation it was there. The only way I knew i was testing was the receiver worn on a strap. The test was essentially a piece of cake!

I had the Bravo device implanted this morning and was really worried after reading some of the posts here. Pleasantly surprised that so far, it feels no worse than my acid reflux has felt this week without my PPI. I don't feel it at all except when eating - and then it just feels a little like something is stuck in my throat. It's a little uncomfortable but not painful. I will follow the advice of some of the other posters and eat a lot of bread to hasten detachment of the device.

Further to my prior post, the transmitter dropped on day 4 - I followed the advice posted by others and ate a lot of bread. So overall the worst thing about this test was the intense acid reflux after not taking my ppi for 7 days. The worst was day 6 & 7 after the implantation since then I had to stop taking tums as well. For these 2 days, I had trouble sleeping and really couldn't eat I felt so sick.

I had the Bravo put in on Friday, here it is Monday an i am in the worst pain. My chest hurts and it goes straight back to my back in the upper section. Feels like someone is punching me in the chest and back. I went to the er friday night due to vomiting up brown coffee like substance. God i hope it falls of soon, I can't take much more.

Unfortunately, some people do experience pain from the device. I didn't experience any discomfort, it will fall off soon. Also, you are responding to a post from over three years ago. You may want to start your own thread.

I had bravo test 9 days ago and capsule still in me Iā€™m miserable when will this fall out? Will it definitely fall out I was told 3 to 7 days??? I ate steak bread everything I cry

I'm not sure why it hasn't fallen off yet. Please contact your doctor, they can go back in and remove it.
