Hi, again, Cmeans24-Be sure to talk with your gastroenterologist about your specific experiences. Everyone has a unique operation. Mine included moving my stomach to its correct location after fixing a gigantic hiatal hernia and attaching my stomach to my esophagus. I could not eat anything or drink anything for weeks.......I would coat a spoon with yogurt, for instance, and that was all I could swallow at a time - not a spoonful.....just the coating of the spoon. I would get a horrible pain in my back if I tried to eat or drink more and would have to walk around my driveway for about an hour until it would subside. Sometimes, I had to throw up, because I was not able to get the food to leave my esophagus and enter my stomach. This went on for months......as I gradually tried different foods .......some with better luck than others! I would say that you really can't rush recuperation......you will get a pain if you do! Did your surgeon give you a food plan? I felt that I was going insane for the first month.....thought I would never be able to eat or drink or get over the pain or be normal again.......it is such a S-L-O-W process. I strongly suggest that you check with your doctor if you continue to feel nauseous when watching how slowly you eat and what you eat.
