sour taste and chest burn 7 days nissen post op

I am 7 days post op with a floppy 360 fundoplication. I choked on water 3rd day after surgery and had coughing fit. It was painful, but went away. My concern is I have been having sour taste in mouth and dry mouth with burning sensation. I also have burning chest pain. It is as if I am worse than before surgery. I am worried that I damaged something. I was told by triage nurse and another surgeon to take 40mg omeprazole daily, and use pepcid and mylanta so the irritation and swelling goes down. Has anyone ever experienced this similar situation?

Thank you. I have been very anxious for about a year prior to surgery. I have been prescribed Lexapro, but I haven't been able to get myself to take it. The first week I tried the meds, I had heartburn and night sweats. Dr. said it takes at least 7 weeks for anti-depressants to take. Maybe I just need to suck it up and get through it, since I am already dealing with reflux and heartburn like symptoms.
