Gloriad....how are you coming along with your stomach and left side issues?

Hi Charlie789, nothing changed. Sucralfate suspension worked for a few weeks. I have tried a bunch of PPIs. I am suffering from mild to bad pain every day. Sometimes the pain wakes me up and keeps me up all night long. I am on strict very boring low acid diet. Very hard to keep the weight stable, can not afford to lose another pound. I had a lot of tests done last year, you can see in my other posts on UC forum. I took a break from all the testing and was very patient, waited for medication to work. Time to resume for more tests.
How about you? Any changes with your left side pain? Have you had any additional tests?

I'm very similar to you. I'm on Entyvio and it does seem that my UC is under control.

However I'm having joint pain in my fingers at the moment. I've had these x-ray and no sign of swelling or inflammatory arthritis. And I have this constant left sided issue. Unlike you I probably have not had this tested as much but I'm due a CT scan of the abdomen in a couple of weeks. I'm just unsure if the pain is muscular or coming from the stomach or colon. Sometimes it feels like spams in my left side, other times it feels like my colon is spasming all down my lower left quadrant. Sometimes I feel it in the top oy my rib cage and other times it is in the top of my hip. But always very tight on the left side as if it the musculature is so tight it is pulling my rib cage in the wrong way. I'm at a loss to say exactly what the issue is.

Charlie789, Have you tried Tums? My doctor asks me if Tums help with any pain as a sign of any stomach issue. Have you had an upper endoscopy? That would be the most accurate test.
I also have a lot of spasms. Sometimes I feel like my intestines are not functioning good or something.
I try to eat only soft foods.

Nexium does seem to improve things for me......what did you upper endo reveal?....how come you are so sure that your flank issues are not back or muscles related.....thanks for your replies...i find a lot similar of my issues in your posts

I had 2 upper endoscopies in 2020 and one last year. All 3 showed stomach erosions.

Has you faecel calprotectin levels been raised with your stomach erosions?

My calprotectin levels were within a normal range. Also I had endoscopy & colonoscopy together. The last 2 colonoscopies showed remission. Stomach and colon biopsies were negative. I am getting more pain now in my colon and sometimes I also get an ache low in my pelvis left side. I think I will ask for calprotectin test next time I have a follow up with my GI.
