Functional Heartburn after NF

Who else had or has Functional Heartburn or PDS (post prandial dyspeptic syndrome) after NF?

Basically early fullness, burning, bloating stomach discomfort after eating.

If yes, did it go away over time? And how long after NF surgery?

This is very common after surgery. This generally can be relieved with walking or anti-gas (simethicone) medications. You need to remember that you had major abdominal surgery. Everyone's recovery is different, and you can expect small setbacks along the way. I didn't feel much better until around six months and the "new" me at around 1 year. Some people still experience some heartburn post surgery and are temporarily kept on PPIs for a time.

Thanks Sharon. I had my gallbladder removed at the same time due to inflammation and sludge build up. I will be at the 6 month mark on May 15th.

You are a work in progress, unfortunately it takes time. I'm sure that you realize that they use the top part of your stomach to reinforce the lower esophagus. That's more than likely why you feel full, as your stomach is slightly smaller. The six month mark was where things started to change for me. My surgeon thoroughly prepared me for what my journey would be like, and I followed the diet he gave me and my progression went pretty smoothly. I also had my gallbladder removed, no issues.
