NF Postop Day4

Hello. I am post op day 4 NF. I have had a lot of painful hiccups. This morning I woke up with bad acid reflux. Is this normal or could this be a sign that the wrap has already failed?

CChris when did you have the surgery.

Hi Ccris:

You just had major abdominal surgery. I'm not sure what your surgeon told you, but having the hoarse voice may be directly related to the intubation tube used during your surgery. The hiccups I encountered were generally when I tried to drink/eat too quickly. A week is not enough time to let your system adjust. I didn't feel much better until 6 months post surgery and the "new me at approximately 1 year. I lost the ability to vomit, and don't belch the same as before the procedure. These are all things that I was aware of prior to my surgery. You just have to give yourself some time and stay with the diet provided. Also, remember that you will experience small setbacks along the way of your recovery.

Thanks. What most concerns me, is the first two days after surgery I had no reflux symptoms except the sour taste. No sore throat, no hoarseness. Now at five days, the symptoms are full on! Will update after Dr appointment

I have not had any more reflux. The hiccups are less as well as I have slowed down how fast I eat or drink anything.
