Hi everyone,
I want to start by thanking you for your time to tell your experiences and helping.
I had my surgery 18 days ago, had a massive hiatus hernia which I loved with for a good 10 years, I'm 31 one now.
The doctors were extremely pleased with the surgery, even though I had an internal bleeding from my spleen during the surgery.
As soon as I woke up I had the usual shoulder pain but was able to swallow without any pain and burp.
I didn't take a single omeprazol since that day because I had absolutely no heart burn or symptoms.
I was very pleased and relived.
For the first 14 days I was on a liquid diet and after that the doctor told me I could have soft foods.
I had my sister wedding yesterday and I had soft foods but I'm scared I might have had more food than I should, usually I have small meals a few times a day, but yesterday I had a bit more but still a few times. I felt fine yesterday, no pain at all, but I woke this morning and a couple hours after I have some heart burn and I'm burping a lot.
It isn't a lot heartburn but enough to scare me and leave me a bit sad that I might have pushed it yesterday and ruin all the hard work I've had so far.
I've had just a few table spoons of Jell-O this morning and I'm gonna take an omeprazol and see if this is just my "dumb organ" acting up.
I know it can take 6 months to be symptom free and healed better but I can't stop being scared I messed up.
Anyone experienced this and then the heart burn went away again?
Thank you,
Mario
