After upper endoscopy I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. I have occasional acid reflux but I've had a whole host of other symptoms which are listed below. I'm wondering if anyone else has or is experiencing any of these and if any treatment/procedure has helped. Thanks

Chronic sinusitis
Tinnitus
Migraine
Ear fullnes
Difficulty swallowing
Coughing
Difficulty breathing
Sleep disorders
Anxiety
Orthostatic hypotension
Hypothyroidism
Fatigue
Eye pain
Essential tremor
Neck/shoulder pain
Brain fog

I didn't experience any of the symptoms that you have listed, that doesn't mean that they don't occur. I could see where it could cause difficulty swallowing and shortness of breath. Most hiatal hernias don't cause symptoms until they are more than 6cm in size (2.5 inches). Normally I would tell you that others would be along to share their experiences, but the Forum has been incredibly slow and I can't guarantee that you will get any responses.

I had 4 cm hiatal Harnia and I didn't have all of these symptoms but some of them like tinnitus, breathing, coughing, anxiety, fatigue and brain fog .... So yes I can relate, if you have small Harnia then I believe you can manage your symptoms with medication and lifestyle including healthy eating.
I have undergone nissen fundo about 10 weeks ago and surgery has helped me control my symptoms. I can say by now there is huge improvement in my reflux symptoms.

Hi, thank you. This makes me feel a little better. Doctors have me feeling like a hypochondriac. But your reply gives me hope that can get better.

This happens a lot with GERD patient. Health anxiety is common with people like us. For me these were major fears whenever there was an acute GERD attack. 1) I am going to have heart attack. 2) fear of having a paralysis attack. I once had a brain CT Scan due to fears like this as I made my doctor believe that one side of my face is going numb. So don't worry, everything will be alright. I have suffered acid reflux from last 10 years and I can understand how you feel.
