So, colitis in remission since February. Gastro advised I have gerd. Omeprazole 2x a day and sucralfate 2x a day. Felt great for months. Stopped the sucralfate and down to 1x day for Omeprazole. Sometimes forgot to take Omeprazole altogether. about
a month and a half ago, started coughing more than normal. 10 days ago, started getting metallic taste in mouth and slight feeling something in throat. This progressed to constant pain in middle of abdomen that won't go away. Waking up 2x per night sweating. Not to mention the excessive belching. Only rarely does anything come back up into throat. Back on omeprazole and sucralfate 2 times a day to see if that will help. Pain is somewhat relieved by eating, but doesn't go away.
Question: what were you experiencing when you made the decision to have surgery? What was the diagnosis that determined having surgery? How long did you experience symptoms before having surgery? What tests were run to make the determination? All of the abbreviations used in the platform are hard for me to follow.
