270 toupet fundoplication pain in shoulders

Iv had the surgery and fixed my hernia to but all my shoulders are really sore stomach in bad pain can’t sleep on my side it has only been 2 days iv been home anybody else had this

Thank you I will I’ll try anything it’s so uncomfortable the belly ace how long does that last I can’t move or go on my side

Gas/bloating can last a few months, but it does subside.

Did you get told to stop taking your reflux medication now

How long do you guys get bloating for I know it’s only been 5 days but my belly has gone really big and sore also iv not been able to empty my bowls since surgery

I think you are expecting too much too soon. You are so early in your recovery and you are experiencing symptoms that are all quite normal. Constipation can occur with the use of painkillers, use a stool softener if necessary. You are no longer able to belch as you had before, please take an anti-gas medication containing simethicone, These are all things that your surgeon should have discussed with you prior to surgery, You should have also received a sample diet to follow when you were released from the hosputal.

Yes it's normal, you will feel some discomfort and mild pain when swallowing. Actually when the food reaches your LES, it puts pressure on your newly created wrap. It will pass in few weeks, don't worry. I told you before, this surgery will test your patience but it's worth it if properly done.

Hey Karl! Wishing you well. Have patience and have more patience. It takes lots longer than the docs tell you to recover from this surgery. Try this diet:

I had a long recovery because I had a stomach that was partly stuck in my chest and needed a long surgery. It took a year for me to get to normal - and remember it's a new normal! But no matter, it's worth it. That was a dozen years ago and I'm still so happy to have had the surgery.
I couldn't burp for months, which wasn't comfortable. I still can't vomit, so I keep Zofran handy in case I get nauseous with flu or something.
Shoulder pain goes away. It's just gas. Bowel habits need to be tended to. Talk to your GI.
Don't rush eating! This is a great opportunity to drop Covid 19 pounds. It can take months, depending on how extensive your surgery was, to get back to your favorite foods.

So I’m 4 weeks post opp now iv lost 9lb in weight I’m still on sloppy food every time I try to go on step I can’t do I’m going back every time iv eaten something iv chest pain for hours especially middle of rib cage has they repaired hernia to feels like all I can eat is mash and yogurts any advance what to try eat has I am vegetarian to I’m even started to have Complan shakes now has I’m not getting nutrients in me

I’m 12 weeks post opp now and I still get a lot of pain were I had hernia repaired I had fundoplication is this normal to have this pain and how long does this last

So I’m 18 weeks post opp I feel so much better I can eat the foods I use to eat but not big portions bread I struggle with and can’t drink fizzy drinks but I’m happy with how I am I’m glad I had this done now plus I’m not taking any medication

After not having much pains for a while and I was happy with everything iv had pain top of my chest for 3 days is this something what happens iv been doing so well to I might of over eaten I’m not sure iv been told you can get o pains for up to a year
