Just wondering if anyone had Gerd/Panic disorder combo its horrble ive been on all meds.i have an 2mm errision in my esphoagus because im breaking through the meds.the G.i is pushing for surgery yet i think some of this might be anxiety related.After all anxiety has me disabled at the age of 27..im skinny eat healthy,and I take my ppis they just dont work well,or quitworking on me,like I get immune..I worry non stop,and im afraid of food half the time.I eat so bland 3 years havent cheated once at all..I dunno what to do..

Outlaw, have you tried breathing excercizes? i found this to help my anxiety and allow me to get re-centered.

The only med I take currently for anxiety is xanax 3 mgs a day.i switch PPI's because none of them are working the last 3 year

s.i just wish i knew how much was anxiety,and how much is Gerd.I try to relax,but when I feel sick,I cant help but dewell on it..

i tried Nexuim and it didn't work... Pariet however did..! hope this helps.. (pariet is expensive 3x the price)

Maybe it's the dosage. I also think that I have a anixiety issue but I think that it's causing my gerd and not coincidental.

has the xanax helped?

ive been on xanax 6 years it helps at times..Just wondering how many people have this nasty combo?

i find that benedryl is very relaxing for the mind and the body. 2 or 3.they help you to sleep. also tylenol pm is great!

I've had this nasty combo too for 5 years. Panic disorder for 13. I also suffer from food allergies and post nasal drip. UHHhH. I'm not taking anything for it because meds don't seem to help but i do feel chronic stomach pain, shortness of breath, a big glob in my throat, along with the panic disorder. Oh, and I have lots of difficulty swallowing.

Anxiety and gerd I can well relate I have been suffering for 20 years...It seems to run in cycles. Last attack I had was in 2001 and now I am ay it again.. Last week I started on buspar for the anxiety and panic attacks... It works very well, for the anxiety.. In 1997 I did paxil and xanax that worked well also but once the gerd get's going it;s hard to get it under control. I'm on prilosec it's not working very well. I am in menopause which makes the whole experience more overwhelming than it has ever been in my life. It's like banging your head against a wall.

have you been scoped over the peroid of years??

its a nasty combo and your right the gerd gets going its like a train hard to stop it or derail it..

  I haven't had a scope since 93 so I recently made an appointment with a gastro doctor. I can't get an appointment any earlier than july 26th, cause I am a new patient. So I wait and wonder like we all wonder. Ya know what I mean..

i had an upper endoscopy 5 years ago and doc thought it was an ulcer. Then they took a biopsy and it was neg for h.pylori bacteria, which is found in most ulcers. Because it was neg for that, they said it wasn't an ulcer. they never gave me an answer to what it was-- but it still hurts. can food allergies cause ulcers?

I can't imagine what you're going thru. having panic disorder for 13 years, i'm dreading when i have to go thru menopause. i don' t like the hot flashes/chills feeling. hope your doc can get you on the right meds to balance you out.
