I have gerd and i was just diagnosed with gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying) The worst part about this had been the bad breath is it causing. Does anyone else have this. please help

I have this, but I don't have the bad breath. Have had gastroparesis since 1990. I take Reglan before I eat and that has worked for me so far. I just was dx'd with GERD this year.

I've been on Nexium since 4/14, but my insurance won't cover it past 9/1, so will have to go on another PPI as I am still having problems off and on.

Most people say to go with small meals a day, but with taking the Reglan, I don't see how that is possible. I have been having one meal a day (dinner) and I do pretty well as far as the gastroparesis goes.

I have had gastroparesis for four years and reflux from it.. reglan make me the saddest of sad and didnt do much for me... so i took nothing... then i was dxed with crohn's and was losing weight and needed to eat more which is a challenge... so i tried domperidone... you can buy it without a prescription from overseas pharmacy... banned in US... works better for me and i take as needed.

breath issue can very well be from acid reflux so check your ppi... all the meds shoudl be taken an hour before you eat... prilosec otc for instance binds to protein so if you take it... eat a protein meal to make it work.. JUST learned that from gastro doc..

also chew sugarless gum as it makes saliva which helps digestion and with breath problem...

pro biotics and digestive enzymes like digex help a lot too.
