I lived! I didn't think I would, but I did!
I was up until after 1 am last night crying. I slept only until 4:30 am and laid there until the alarm went off and my husband had to drag me out of the bed and put my shoes on all the while I'm crying still and saying that I didn't want to go. Then I started to cry again while in the waiting room. I felt like such a big baby, but the nurses were really nice about it. They put me in the cubicle and let my husband come and prepped me and stuck in an IV. Then the nurse reassured me some more and asked if my heart rate was always so fast and said, "probably not, you're just upset." Then they wheeled me into the other room where I saw my doctor and two other nurses. My GI doctor was really nice and rubbed my arm, and asked me a few questions, we were talking about my Lyme disease and she was fiddling with my IV. I felt calmer all of a sudden, but not knocked out yet, so I asked, and she said it was just something to relax me.
Then they hooked me up to the machines with the sticky things and the thing on my finger (I'm soo technical) and put the spray in my mouch. I saw my doctor begin to put the other sedative in the IV. The nurse was standing by me with a plastic thing saying that it was the bite guard. That's the last I remember. Next I heard, "Holly, want to try waking up now?" and it was a nurse and I was back in the other room, and couldn't believe it. I didn't even believe they did anything, I asked if it was all done and a nurse said, "Yep it's all done!" and got my toast and cranberry juice and my husband from the waiting room. They said I could get up and get dressed, and I was all wobbly and silly. They had made me take off all my jewelry prior, and put it in a little bag. On the way home I noticed my rings were back on my fingers and my husband said I put them back on and I didn't remember. He said I kept saying, "Maybe I'll put my jewelry on...Nah...Yeah...just the rings though." But I don't remember that.
Doctor says I just have some irritation and gastritis, and to keep taking my meds, and I can take them twice a day if I need to. Thank you supportive GERD forum!
