I recognize that the stories are different after reading many posts here.   I'm hoping someone may recognize what I'm going through.

It started with trouble swallowing and was given a barrium swallow test to confirm Acid Reflux.  They put me on Nexium which did nothing.    I moved to Protonix which has helped at best.   I have also tried Prilosec & Sucralfate which didn't work at all.     I had my gall bladder out 2 months ago which also didn't help.

I have bloating, trouble sleeping, constant abdominal discomfort and a highly resticted diet.   

Any help in finding an answer to this would be appreciated.

Ask you doctor to do an HPylori test for bacteria in your stomach. Did they rule out an ulcer?
Also, how restricted is your diet? Are you eating anything that might cause gas buildup?

Thank you for the reply. I have had the HPylori test and motility test and both were negative. Ulcers have been ruled out. I am only eating very bland foods, no salsa or red sauce or alcohol and the list goes on. My problem is bloating and constant stomach discomfort.

Last year, my husband started having stomach pains, constipation, bloating and discomfort. He went through a battery of tests, ultrasound, endoscopy, barium swallow, h pylori tests, x rays, even a test for Zollingers. All came up negative. He also had an occasional sore throat. The stomach pains seemed to be slightly relieved when in an upright, slightly forward position. He was prescribed Prevacid and took it for about 9 months. He has been mostly symptom free since then...about 9 months now.

To this day, he still hasn't been diagnosed. Although the Gastro never said it, I'm thinking it's IBS. I think stress has a lot to do with it as he was quite stressed out during that time.
