DO ANYONE YOUNGER THEN 36 YEARS OLD WITH GERD/HIATAL HERNIA PLEASE REPLAY TO THIS POST ALONG WITH THE SYMPTOMS AND HOW LONG WITH GERD/HIATAL HERNIA.WHAT DRUG HAVE BEEN USED UNTIL NOW,AND WHAT WORK BEST NATURAL OR DRUG.SO WE CAN SHARING AND SUPPORT EACH OTHERS AND SEEK WHAT WORK THE BEST FOR US BECAUSE WE ARE TOO YOUNG WITH THIS GERD/HIATAL HERNIA.

i'am 31(have a wife and 2,6 years old daughter).

have gerd/hiatal hernia for 9 months now.

current medication:ranitidine 150mg twice a day afternoon and before bed,motillium,mucosa,nutrimax stomach guard(DGL).

symptoms:heartburn every days(mild to medium)in my back,middle-right-left chest more worse if hungry sometimes fell like pressure in the chest,no reflux,no taste acid in the mouth,feeling pressure in throat,when swollen mucus sometimes it fell like bubble sensation in the throat,no problem at night,belching/burp a lot,burning stomach,have inflammation in LES area,feeling stress because of this gerd/hiatal hernia

Sorry you haven't had any responses.

I'm 30 and have had GERD for years. A couple of years ago I was officially diagnosed with hiatal hernia by way of endoscopy.

Symptoms? They came in two stages. For the first couple years I experienced "burps of fire" and rarely anything else. Later, I started having severe bloating, taste of acid, nausea, reflux. By this "stage two" I rarely experienced the "burps of fire" anymore.

At first I treated with Maalox and stuff like that. Eventually moved onto Prevacid. The problem never really went away. Recently I stopped prevacid and started Klonopin for anxiety/panic. A GI specialist at a renowned hospital suggested most of my stomach issues could be atypical panic attacks. Clearly, he was right. There was a week between stopping Prevacid and starting Klonopin. I was miserable a lot of the time. Then the Klonopin pretty much knocked it out. That was about a month ago and I've experienced something of a reflux rebound. I'm going back on Prevacid to see what happens. I'm still better than I've been in years, but I definitely have the hialatal hernia (hell, I've seen photos of it) so I do imagine I need some kind of treatment.

So, there you go. You're right that we're too young to be suffering with this, but it's not uncommon at all.

If you're still around I can tell you about my symptoms in much more detail if you like, past or present. Just ask. There really is a lot more to the story so don't take everything above at face value.

,i too have taken xanax 0,5mg a day dr say that i have a anxiety about my symptoms of gerd and other stress problem at works and home.and dr told me that i have pyscosomatic snydrome

i think dr right after take xanax my everydays heartburn reduce much much more just a mild feeling like cooling in my body

.and he said anxiety,stress,pyscosomatic, can caused gerd symptoms and there is no such proof that hiatal hernia caused gerd i aggreed for that because i got free symptoms almost 2 months.now i just take xanak 0,5mg a days and chitosan from tiens plus ranitidine 150mg before bed time.and dr said if someone with acid reflux at least he/she will have acid tasted in their mouth 2-3 times a week.for me i don't have that acid tasted and if the heartbeat fast because we are stress and anxiety

.i hope we all doing well and improved quality of ours live and pray/hope that gerd symptoms can be gone with the wind

I took an Anatomy/Physiology class last semester, the text noted that GERD affected even new born babies. I had to do a report on digestion disorders, since that is of interest to me, obviously, I did the report on that. When you go onto the Internet, type in "Medical Information" and then "search." This will present you with several medical research sites. I used four different sites to put my report together. The Mayo is great, of course, WebMD, Merck has good info, and sometimes MedLine. Anyway, just to let you know, the out-patient procedure "flundoplication" is performed on new born babies. Check it out, it may be helpful to you.
