My gastro said if you release gas from burping it is from one of two things, either swallowing air or too much acid. If you release it from the other end it is undigested food. Apples are very acidic and most people don't eat them that have acid problems.
Canyonbabe711, I've been seeing a gastro doctor since 1986 for my UC. I have spells within two hours of eating alot of times where my gut tightens up with gas and it is relieved somewhat when I belch. But my gastro doctor automatically says it is acid reflux only when you have belching and never mentioned anything to me about
gas being relieved out the other end being due to not digesting food. As a matter of fact, I went back to him on July 24th and told him about
the tightened feeling in my middle upper part of my abdomen and the gas in my lower left corner of my colon and he thought it no big deal. But from what I've read on the internet on several medical sites, it is normal to pass gas 10 to 20 times a day. And I feel my belching is from swallowing too much air as I have a bad habit of eating too fast. And if I slow down my eating it helps some. And I can feel the gas moving around in the middle upper part of my gut. And I have been going through several states of anxiety and stress lately over the past several months which I know makes it worse. I need to try and not worry about
all of it as I don't feel I have reflux as I never belch anything acidic up into my throat.
CathyA, I use charcoal caps. They do get rid of the intestinal gas, the only thing they do is make your stool darker. My gastro doctor told me to keep using them. They really help. You should give them a try.
