Acid reflux or allergy?

I noticed today after eating two miniature oranges that about 10 minutes later I had some slight shortness of breath. No heartburn or anything else. Does this seem more like an acid reflux or allergic symptom?

Stu, Where I would start is...have you ever had a reaction to eating this particular fruit ever before? Your shortness of breath could have nothing to do with the fruit. What did you do after eating? Were you active...or, was there ANY OTHER REASON AT ALL for shortness of breath? Think about all the factors going on at that time. Oranges are acidic, which could certainly cause a flare up in GERD. A lot to think about here. Wishing you the best!

It is weird. If you have never had a reaction to eating oranges before, I would say that it isn't an allergy. Since you weren't exherting yourself, I wouldnt' say that it was from doing too much. It could be from GERD, because shallow breath has been reported with GERD. If it happens often, talk to your doctor, and by all means, if it becomes too hard to breathe, go to an emergency room.
