Anette,
I do know that PPI's will give you more gas and bloating. One reason is they cause constipation and I think (my opinion from my experience) is that your digestion is being messed with because obviously we need stomach acid to digest food properly. I became lactose intolerant while on PPI's and any dairy would give me cramps and bloating along with beans. But when I go off the PPI's I don't have any problem with cramps or bloating and can eat dairy and beans.
I can't speak to the causes of your gas and bloating before you took the PPI's but I do know that alot of carbs will cause gas. I'm not sure if diverticulities causes gas.
