is this GERD related?

Although I've never been diagnosed with GERD I suspect I have issues with reflux. Frequently if I eat something that disagrees with me I get a shortage of saliva in my mouth and a feeling that my mouth is dry. I then feel I want to belch but the "belch seems unable to happen". It's like my throat wants to release air but it just can't build up the energy to do this. This feeling lasts for a few hours, then usually breaks with two or three really good belchs. Then I feel really fine.

Is this a symptom of GERD?

Hi there. I'm not sure about the belching but I got the dry mouth symptom and it was the GERD. Hopefully somebody will come along with some ideas on the gas symptoms.

Hey there, hello. I have had the trapped gas and the severe heart burn until I belch. I can feel the air trapped in my stomach or chest and it is not easy to pat yourself on the back to get it to move on up. See your physician for a good physical to rule out any other problems as well as getting a dx.
