I hope this is helpful to anyone who needs it, to help swallow pills, calm your system, etc.
It has made my life much easier since i heard the Lord whisper it a few days ago, when my throat closed up, and only fluids would go down. This has been a throat-saver, a life-saver, a nerve-saver for me. :)
Remember that peaches, especially in syrup, are very SLICK and SLIPPERY and they even have that precious BULK, also.
So - go to your pantry and get those peaches out (that you've never baked that pie with!) or go buy a few large cans of them, the type in the "heavy syrup", and start keeping them in a plastic container in the refrigerator. Maybe even a tub that you can sip from. The deli tubs from Kroger (the potato salad and cole slaw tubs) are a perfect size for this.
Whenever it's time to take your pills, just get the peaches out and relax a few minutes, take a few breaths and enjoy some of the them beforehand, which will moisten your mouth and relax and open your throat as best as possible. (Hey, I may throw in a thin-sliced banana in there to soften for tomorrow - but it has to be mixed in the peach syrup so it will be very, very slippery and cause absolutely no friction.)
Then have your pills ready, along with more of the peaches and the juice in the container, as needed.
Have some water there of course, for between pills, to help them get down to the stomach, in case your whole esophagus is constricted.
Then relax and just chew up some peaches VERY WELL, but HOLD THEM IN YOUR MOUTH, ready to swallow...
Put your pill in your mouth inside the chewed peaches, and then calmly and gently swallow them together.
Relax for a few minutes - have some extra water - and say a "thank you" to the Lord - and prepare to take the rest of the pills the same way. Then, have a good day.
With love to all and with prayers to all who suffer with this reflux and esophagus disorder. I'm thankful for this forum. It's about sharing what we can to help others to do what we can to enjoy this life.
