ok don't know if this is where I need to be or not but here goes.. I was eating a hot dog with sauce and onions the other night and I started hurting in my chest and got really sweaty I mean so bad that i had to strip my clothes the sweat was running off my nose and in my eyes. I make it to the bathroom and through up but the pain was so bad in my chest i couldn't lie down or stand up.. i had to stay on the floor in front of the pot on my knees with my head down.. after about 30 minutes the pain gave way some and i could lie down but i was so cold from the sweat i had the shakes, I got under the electric blank to stop them.. My daughter got me some cola and I could burp and it helped . This is not the first time this had happened to me.. anyone got any idea what this might be?

I get the chest pains with my GERD and lying down makes it worse. I have to sit up and wait out the attack, which can last from a half hour to several hours. I am also throwing up stomach acid. How often have you had these attacks? Did you try to take any antacids and if so did they help at all. Many people experience heartburn without it being a more serious condition. Alot depends on how often you get the attacks. What type of food brings on the attacks. If you are having these frequenltly you might want to get checked. Medication helps many people, I unfortunately am not one of them.

Welcome to HealingWell. May I ask a couple of questions, do you have a dxz of GERD or Heartburn? Do you take any meds?

I cannot dx you but you may have had a stomach upset. If you continue to have these episodes you need to see your physician.
