Anyone taking Miralax by chance?

Hi all,

I was diagnosed with GERD in 2005 and last year, a 3cm hiatal hernia was found. I've had some success with medications but every now and again I have a terrible flare up. I started taking Miralax daily for constipation about 1 month ago and was wondering if it might be responsible for the flare up. I've stopped it (only 1 night now) but still having the terrible heartburn. I may be grasping at straws here but wanted to know if anyone else who has GERD is using this medication.

Also, my doctor wants me to take Zantac at night to help this flare. I don't like taking it because for some reason the higher dose (300mg) keeps me from getting a restful sleep. Has anyone else had this happen with Zantac? I currently take Aciphex in the morning and at this point it seems like it isn't working at all. The last flare up I had, I stuck with Aciphex and it all calmed down eventually. I had to watch my diet which I am doing now but this flare doesn't seem to be improving at all. If anyone has insight I would greatly apprecaite it. This constant heartburn is so tough to live with!

Also, my doctor wants me to try Amitriptyline next to see if that helps. I'm not keen on taking this! Is there anyone out there who tried this as well?
