Just a quick question to see if i'm the only one with this.....

I have heartburn for sure and an ulcer from my pain meds, but i am constantly burping even when i havent had anything to eat or drink.....anyone else experience this?
I've been reading a few threads and i havent seen anyone mention that.

I have just been diagnosed with IBS, but I am having other symptoms that I don't understand. I am wondering if this could be a result of GERD. I know that all of this can be connected to the GI. I never thought that I had reflux because I didn't really experience the pain of heartburn.like so many others do. I do belch a bit and do feel an occasional mild burning sensation in the esophagus. For several months now I have been having a weird, almost painful sensation on the left side of the esophagus/bronchial area, and it travels up the left side of my neck when I inhale. My Dr. treated me back in Oct. for bronchitis because I did have wheezing and coughing and reddness in the throat along with the discomfort of the neck sensation. I then had gallbladder surgery. The strange neck and esoph. sensation came back a few weeks later. i decided to take nexium for 4 weeks and the sensation finally went away. Now it is back again. The Dr. checked my lungs and bronchi and said they were clear. Does anyone relate to any of this? Thanks for any comments.

I have encountered something like that.  I never really could burp but in Aug. 08 I started what I would call leaking air or very small burps.  I was diagnosed with GERD and it is better now that I am on the PPI's but it is still there.  When I eat or drink and even sometimes when I don't.  I was also diagnosed with Barrett's and I had rarely had heartburn up until theburping started.
