Hi Sarah,
My surgeon told me that the swelling would increase through the first two weeks, before it begins to subside again. I started noticing it yesterday and today for the first time (Days 4 and 5). It definitely feels like a big lump...yesterday I described it as swallowing a huge air bubble...it kind of reminded me of that. It does feel like things aren't getting through as well...even water seems to sit a bit.
Oh well...this too will pass. I'm going to my follow up with the surgeon tomorrow, so maybe I'll get some good information there. I'll have to remember all the questions I need to ask!
I have worried a bit about
the burp...but it is definitely making things easier. From what I hear, it's not a common occurrence with the wraps my surgeon does, so I'm interested in hearing his take.
I know that many people do burp without reflux, so I'm hopeful. I've actually heard that the ability to burp makes the outcome much more comfortable. I'll let you know what the surgeon says about
it.
Keep those happy thoughts!
Denise
