I haven't been on the board for a while but can't believe we already have a part 5 of the Nissen post op, I started the part 1 thread a long time ago. I am glad to know that we are here to support each other.
My recovery journey has been slow. Yes, I don't have heartburn anymore but I still have chest pain on and off. I still eat very small portions and have maintained my 115 weight. The thing that bothers me is that I still can't lift anything heavy. I don't lift anything over 15-20 pounds (max). If I do lift anything heavy or over do it, I sure do feel it at the wrap. I will feel the tug and pull so that makes me be very cautious with my daily routine. I have talked to my surgeon and he doesn't know what to make of this chest pain. According to my last endoscopy in April of 08, the wrap looked great (can't figure that one). Maybe in the summer I will have another endoscopy just to make sure everything is in its proper place.
Unfortunately, I had the Reclast infusion on Feb 17 and still have lots of teeth pain. Has anyone here on the Gerd board ever had the Reclast infusion? I didn't want to go this route but my osteoporosis has gotten worse. I am only 45 and the doctor said I had the bones of a 65-70 year old, especially my hips were worse than my spine. I told him I wouldn't take anything oral because of my Nissen surgery, I already had bad luck with the Fosamax. I eat extremely healthy, take expensive calcium pills purchased from the orthopaedic center, and hormone replacement therapy but still my bone density was getting worse. I just hope I didn't make a mistake with this one. Barbara....
