This is my first visit to this spot...(I have GERD too...think it's part of my crohn's though).
Kit, I have seen you around on different parts of this site...I will keep you and your family in my thoughts...

Thank you all.............my sister is my only sibling left and I just want her to have peace.  I will be ok but she needs prayers to endure the pain.

She is a brave and wonderful woman who was dx 10 months ago with the Ovarian Cancer at the age of 67.  She went to work the day before she was flown to Minneapolis in nearly complete systems failure.  That is how dedicated and brave she is.

Thank you for being here and I am always available to anyone as my email is wide open.

I am so sorry that you are going thru this, that your sister is. I have not been on in a while and wish I could have sent encouraging words sooner. My Father in-law had colon cancer and although it was painful for all of us to see him this way, we were grateful to have had the extra time that the treatments provided. My heart goes out to you and your family. Please take care of yourself.

Kitt - I don't know how to start this but to apologize from the bottom of my heart for not coming on and not being here for you, if only for a comforting word or two. My pc crashed and had to be sent for repairs and now I have it back I figured I would check in here to see how you all are doing.

I hope you except my deepest apology and heart felt sympathy to you and your family. I know your pain in the struggle to fight this nasty disease. My mother passed from cancer and it was the hardest battle I had ever seen but unfortunately it won with her as well.

Be strong good lady and you certainly have to remember that you will meet up with your sister again in a better place ; )

Hiya Bill. I'm so sorry about not being here for so long. I tryed to check in a couple times on my daughters Ipod but I can't figure that thing out so I just gave up on that.

How are things going with you ? Has LadyJane been around ?

Hey there no apologies necessary.  If you have been through losing a loved one to cancer you know the roller coaster ride well and I have been riding the roller coaster for 10 months now. I just lose it from time to time.  redface

Your words are so very kind, thank you.

Lady Jane has not been posting on the  boards for a while now due to personal reasons. She is truly missed by many.

I finally have a surgery date, May 18th. Other than that all's about the same. I agree with Kitt, Lady Jane is missed by many.

So sorry Kit for your loss, I appreciate where you are coming from. I hadn't seen the post to comment. Don't feel downhearted, sometimes people don't know what to say under the circumstances. All the best to you and your family, keep up the good work. Jx

Kitt - Thank you. My mother fought for 2 years with chemo, radiation and surgery's to try to stop it but finally it got to where there was nothing else to do but keep her comfortable because her body just couldn't handle it any more. Mom passed at 63 years old which was way to early. When it got to the point that there was nothing else they could do to help her it was very frustrating and I was very angry but over time I've grown to except it. She did pass while sleeping so she didn't suffer during that, Thank God.

If there is anything I can do to help you just email me and I will give it my best Kitt.

Bill - Wow ! They are finally going to do the surgery. Are you excited ? I bet you are, just with the thought of having some relief from all your problems. I'm so happy for you. You will keep us posted, right ?

I'm doing pretty good with my redo now. I had a endoscopy done to dilate me a little and to check things out inside. I'm still getting the dreaded rib and shoulder pain off and on. I eat all most anything with not much troubles just a stick here and there but it doesn't last as long as it use to and it's not as painful as it was before. I willing to give and take a little and I'm over all happy with having it redone.

This is one thing I wanted to share that has me absolutely thrilled. Before the surgery I suffered so much from the burning reflex coming up from just bending over to pick something up from the ground. Now I can go outside and bend over and plant my garden and totally enjoy it WITH NO BURNING REGURGATING when I bend over. It's amazing to me. Something so simple that ppl that don't have this disease could not possibly understand. I don't have to load up my pockets with Rolaids and such before I go outside to garden tongue

Anywho, I need to get out to that new garden and give it some water. You all take care now, Teala

I am so sorry for your loss. I have not been on the forums for awhile because I have been busy with other problems going on with my family. You and your sister are in my prayers. I have had several family members and close friends affected by cancer and recently lost a dear friend to cancer. You are very much loved and appreciated for all you do for everyone. I will be in and out of internet in the next few months. Just remember you are in my prayers.

My deepest condolences. I cannot tell a lie.I have seen the title of your post and never opened it for technical reasons. I am on my cell fone reading healing well and this fone jumps really fast.Sometimes it has me starting a new topic instead of a reply.There we're a few times where it just jumped to a forum and I wud say oh god I hate this fone.SO my deepest condolences. I lost 3 ppl twice in my lifetime.My mom,dad and best childhood friend.ONE YEAR LATER I lost 3 of my moms brothers in one month,so I feel ur grieve.My prayers go out to all your loved ones family and or firends.

Thank you all, and Bea I do not even know how to text message so I understand your fone issues.  :)

My sister is not doing well and now she is requiring so much pain med she is in her own drugged world most of the time.  She did fall yesterday and my neice feels so guilty.  It could have happened anywhere.  At least my sister did not break anything so that is a plus.  They are taking her to see her Doctor today.  Trying to get Hospice involved but much red tape so my neice is doing all the cares with some help from Home Health Care.

I live 500 miles from my sister and I keep feeling like I need to be there.  I feel very torn.

I am so sorry your sister is not doing so well. I know the feeling about wanting to be there. I was overseas when I lost my father. Know that your sister understands that you want to be with her but can't right now. She knows you love her and that love is with her even if you can't be with her physically. When my friend's mom passed away she was in and out of coherant states, but I know she knew we were with her and when other family members called and talked to her she may not have been able to answer but somehow you knew that she heard them. I will keep you all in my prayers.

God will be her co pilot and an angel sits on your nieces shoulder.If she doesn't get any help ,the angel will assist her in strength and peace of mind.Just keep being supportive. I took care of my 2 parents along with my sister and 5 brothers.They had 7 kids.one for each day.although I never left their sides.good luk kitt

Kitt - You speaking of how your sister is at this point really brings back the memories of mom. I understand you wanting to be with her for your sake as well as hers even if she doesn't fully know that your there or not it is comforting on your part to just be in her presents.

Is she so sedated that she can not converse with you over the phone ? Does she recognize her family members ?

I know it's so hard to not be with her, but don't beat yourself up. You know in your heart that your sister understands that and loves you just the same and if you could be there you would be by her side physically but she knows your there in other ways. You really need to believe that and keep reassuring yourself that, at least I had to.

When it came to the last few days for mom I would just sit in the room with her even though she was so out of it. It felt very important for me to just be there though she did not respond much or when she did it was very confusing to her and me.

I'm so so sorry Kitt, this just brings me to tears for anyone to see their loved one go through this. Let God take her pain away and make her whole again as she was before this disease took her body over.

Thank you all and I have been talking to Bev, my sister, on the phone but she has been really out of it so not making any sense. Today they held the phone to her ear and I talked to her of the good times and I told her I loved her and she said "I love you too, sweetie"  I am so happy. 

I asked my niece if I heard her right and she said yes, she did say that. I told my niece how I wish I could be there and she said "Well Mom kept telling me yesterday that you were here" LOL.  So I am glad she thinks I am there and even if she is seeing things I am glad I am one of those good things she sees.

Hospice brought her a hospital bed today.  She is truly surrounded by angels to watch over her and take her home soon. 

We both lost sons to car accidents so I know she will be with our boys and I cry.

Amazingly my GERD is behaving even when I ate a "not so right for me" food yesterday.  Will I ever learn?  :)

Kitt - Well what fantastic news. It makes me so happy to hear that you are able to communicate with her. That's awesome! Makes me cry so much, Bless her heart.

Hospice can really be a God send when family is so run down and they can be there to step in if needed.

Sorry to hear about your son's, that's just awful but everything will be fine in the end since you have God in you and your family's life.

I'm also glad the Gerd is at least giving you break during all of this.

You've been through so much, Kitt.
I'm so glad you got to talk to your mom. Hospice is a wonderful organization. I hope they will also be able to support you in this process. They helped us through the loss of my father in law. They were wonderful. I lost my own mom suddenly, when she was on her way home from two months vacationing in Georgia. We were very close, and it was hard not to be able to say goodbye. Be glad that you can tell your mom you love her. I'm sure that means a lot to both of you.
You've got lots of people here who care about you, and want to return the support you've offered all of us.

Dear Family,

My sister, Beverly, died last night at 8:40 PM CDT. I have lost my 2 sisters and 1 brother in 17 months.

I cry.  I thank all of you who have prayed for us and who have supported me.  I will carry memories of each of them but Beverly is a great loss to me.  She was the one who understood her little sister and loved me despite of my quirks. cry

Thank you again for sticking with me through this long, long journey.
