Acid Rebound

Hi

Can anyone offer any advice/experience here?

I was on Losec, then Nexium, then Prilosec 20mg a day for 9 years. It worked brilliantly to remove 99% of my GERD/LRD symptoms regardless of what I ate. Then, when I tried to cut down to 10mg a day, everything seemed fine - until after a few weeks I got MASSIVE acid rebound. Since then I have found that I need Nexium 40mg or Prilosec 80mg a day to keep it under control (this is 6 months later) and it still doesn't work as well, with many things making me burp or even reflux slightly - or the annoying LRD throat mucos symtom.

How much longer will this rebound last? I was only on a lower dose for a few weeks 6 months ago, and have since jacked it right back up again. I just want to get back to the way I was, and maybe wait out the years until the new LINX system is commercially available....does anyone have experience with acid rebound, and a subsequent need for an increase in PPI dosage that was eventually reversible?
