question after lap nissen

hi everyone well i'm just 5 weeks out of surgery and well the past week i have been having diarrhea is there anything i could take for it or does it just need to take its course? other than that everything is going good i can eat anything i want as long as i go slow.

I also get diarrhea...It happens when my wrap gets irritated (remember, your wrap is part of your stomach, so your whole stomach can react to an irritation.) The "dumping" happens (who knows why) when I eat a big meal and something doesn't agree with the wrap/stomach. Then I'll get LOUD grumbling in my stomach...gurgling...and diarrhea. It usually only lasts a few days to a week, then goes away on its own. I generally go a few times in the morning, and it doesn't bother me much during the day when I'm working. I don't actually get the "runs".

This past weekend I got one episode that only lasted a day. Other times it has lasted a week or so. I can always tell when it's going to happen, because my wrap will usually feel a bit uncomfortable. Then I know I've overdone it.

I don't take anything for it, because it doesn't really bother me, and I know it's a self-limiting problem, and I know it will go away on its own.

It's weird. Sometimes when I eat things that I expect to bother me--nothing happens. I really don't know what gets it going, but I suspect it's when I get too frisky and don't chew things carefully enough.

You don't have to worry, though. It's a common thing that will improve over time.
