Hello, it's been awhile since I have been on here.  I had open fundo about 2 1/2 years ago and have not had any problems until this week.  I felt like I had to vomit this week, sick to my stomach and very lethargic.  Last night I went to bed and when I laid down all of the sudden I had heart burn and burning in my throat again.  I have not had this since surgery and it was a horrible feeling.  How do I know if it has slipped or what should I do.  i really don't want this feeling again.  I have that horrible knot in my throat again.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thank you

Go to the GI and get an endoscope.This would be appropriate. I wish you luck. I had the lao nissan May7th and I am a new woman. Hopefully u didnt injure anything inside

I agree with Bea. Get a hold of your GI and surgeon to see what they say.

Thank you both for your replies.  I am going to go to the hospital tomorow and try to see my new GI.  The one who did my surgery is located in Bangkok and I just don't want to make that trip.  I certainly hope it's something simple.  Life has been so good without the burning, I would hate to go back there again.  I have had several scopes done a few months ago and a breathing tube.  I hope that hasn't caused the problem.  Do you think having the endoscope will cause more problems?

According to my surgeon, once the wrap is fully healed, endoscopies can be done without a problem. Good luck Mr. T...try not to worry so much. Often something like a viral stomach illness can cause irritation and swelling of the wrap. Maybe you'll find out that it isn't anything permanent. I can't remember which of us here has experienced something similar, (Teala?) but hopefully they'll post soon. It took months to get back to normal after the illness.

Just an update.  I could not get the test the other day so they told me to wait until Monday and last night I did not have any reflux or burning in my throat.  I do feel like there is still food in my throat after I swallow and even drink.  it's like it all doesn't go down.  I do have some pain still in my chest but I think I may have gotten too worried after not having the feeling for a long time. Now I think I will put off the doctor and wait to see if it gets worse.  Thanks for your help
