Hello and welcome to the Forum. I am Kitt. I have GERD/Heartburn but only have pain in my throat with a bad case of heartburn which stays pretty well controlled on Prilosec for me.
Do you have pain in your chest or just the throat pain. Mine is always a severe burning in chest that radiates up into shoulders and neck and Nope it is not caused by cardiac problems. 
At least for me it is not.
I know you will be hearing from other members.
