Hiatal Hernia

Hello All...I am a new member to this site and it looks to be very informative. Im 38 and was suffering with stomach pain for 3 months. The pain turned out to be a hiatal hernia and erosive esophagitis- grade II. Before getting scoped I was on protonix (didn't help) and Prevacid (didn't help). Now i started Nexium and Im starting to feel better. I keep hearing that long term use of this medicine can be dangerous and am now looking for a second opinion. Any suggestions? I am also looking for another doctor to read my reports in the NY area, if you know of any :)

I live in Staten Island NY and had the best G.I .His name is Dr prasanna wickremsinghe.He saved my life. He had me on ppi's and eventually I had the nissan fundo.He did try me on every and all meds.When I went to my surgeon he said the ppi's will affect my organs,kidneys and or liver if takenlong long term. I dont know how tru it is?
