aw bea.....i hope everything turns out well! its tough but it takes time... quit smoking is a big thing, my gf's currently going thru it.! best of luck!

ok Bea we can do it my last cigarette was 19 August at approxomatley 4:30 AM. I want a cigarette more than I want a diet pepsi but I wil be strong. We can quit together

aww thanx guys!!! That felt good. I am goin to try to quit. I sent away for the patches they r free here in NY. I think I will buy the phillips becuz align is 32.buks.How much is thephillips and is it the same thing probiotic for digestive tract

I agree with the doc...Quit smokin', Hey ou might stop loosing weight if you stop smokin;. Never know, could be the what you need to maintain this weight.
I say give it a shot! I also agree, we love you mor than you love smokin' and want you around a lot longer.

Hey Bea,

I do understand how tough it is to quit smoking as I live with a smoker although he does not smoke in the house and he smokes really fast in the winter when the temperature in the garage is 20 degrees.  Brrrrr.

I agree with the others, we love you more...............so do try the patches and believe in your will power.  The first 3 weeks are usually the toughest.

Ditto on the quit smoking request. Now that you've got your wrap, and are on the road to better health, why not kick that habit? I'll bet it'll make you feel better quicker than almost any other thing you could do.

As far as the weight goes...everyone is so different. Janice, you must be all muscle! I'm 5'10 and weigh 150 and I'd never fit an 8 or 10. I only fit those sizes when I was at about 125--about 30 years ago! I'm a 12, and trying to stay there. Oh well, my husband likes me meaty...he's not into skinny, so when I try to lose weight and get skinny, he tells me to gain the weight back. I'm not interested in getting back to my young weight, but do want to stay a size 12. Don't want to go the road of buying bigger and bigger.
Size isn't what's important, though. It's what's inside that counts.
It's how you treat others, not how you look that matters.

We do love you more than you could possibly love those ciggies.

I'm on subsinex probiotic for a week now. My gas is almost gone! I'm down to a little toot once and awhile.
I don't smoke but I am addicted to sweets. I'd like to quit them. Maybe we can support each other in our addictions.

Good idea! We already have a great support group going here. I'm addicted to food in general, so could use some support in resisting the urge to overeat!

LOL@ every1. Yes, I am sooo addicted to foos too. I cook everything. I made eggplant parmesean yesterday.The eggplant was from my brothers garden. It was delicious. SO delicious that 2nite i made t bone steak red potatoes and his garden string beans and never touched tonights dinner. Ive been eatin eggplant out the waaazoooo.I may have gained 2 pounds since yesterday. I am waiting for my grandbaby haley to come spend the night.

That does it...I'm moving in with Bea!! Actually, haven't felt like eating much lately, but it always sounds so good!!

I quit smoking in 1986, just up and decided that was it and did it.. a woman in my office at the time gave me a cancer society tip, and it worked too. Get a rubber band and wear it around your wrist, when you want a cigarette, snap the rubber band and sure as shoot, it worked! The other thing that worked, well actually there were a couple...want a cigarette, take a slow deep breath; that really helped and another one was wintergreen lifesavers..boy that really did the trick.

Hi Bea

I too hope you can quit smoking. I did after twenty six years. Three years ago March.

My Mom died from lung cancer in May of 08. I want you to be able to say that you too quit and I along with everyone else will cheer you on for sure. It will be one fo the single most important things you do for your life. Smoking greatly affected my acid reflux. I also think it helped to bring on my adult onset asthma and allergies. We love you Bea!

ps, I would love to join the food addicts club !

I have memory loss goin on  lol.

Thanx Annie, My mom died of lung cancer @ 50, dad had esphagus ca, and my sister died at 14years of ovarian cancer so I must be a freaken idiot!!Not to mention maternal grandmother had stomach cancer for 20 years b4 it took her life @ 89.

I am awaiting for th epatch to cum in the mail.Once it gets here i will slap it on.

it takes time b, patience and time... my gf is ding it in steps.. infact she's been using the hypno tapes and magnets and the patch... guess the combo's working...
as for me my grandparents both died of cancer, and it runs high risks in my family... most of the people at my work smoke and im slowly converting them:)
if u need any help or anything we're all always here for u!!

Oh my Bea,

Your family history reads like mine only I may have more as I suspect I am a bit older.  My Grandmother dies of cancer. My Father and his 5 siblings died of cancer.  I have lost cousins to cancer.  My sister died in April of 2009 of ovarian cancer and My older sister had breast cancer but died of a massive heart attack. I have already gone through a bout of skin cancer but I know that I will survive even thow I cannot give up my Diet Coke. devil

Now on a lighter note:

Today I may eat pronto pups, cotton candy, carmel apples, porkchop on a stick, beer on a sitck,  tacos, a brownie, milk shake from the dairy barn, french fries, Tom Thumb donuts, a foot long hot dog.............guess where I am going.  Yes mam, to the State Fair so please add me to the food addicts forum. 

Bea you should have a stand at the Fair and sell your goodies as you would make mucho dollars in the 10 day run.   :) Oh did I meantion cheese curds, deep friend of course?

Hugs to all and I am also getting my flu shots at the fair, the first ones. skull

OK, I am home from the State Fair............oh my my brain has turned to pure sugar.  I held it down to one big fat chocolate brownie which I rewared myself with after I got my flu shot ( the regular shot).  cool Then I had a chocolate cone in the dairy barn and before leaving I had one fresh strawberry smoothie. 

Not to bad.  I can hardly move.

Man, don't make me hungry. Reading about all that food set my reflux off and now I'm coughing. :)
It's something when you think of food and start coughing. Oh, well. It will soon be over.

Yup, Beer on a stick..........they take a piece of slat of wood and make 3 round holes in it then glue it to a stick and you get 3 plastic cups with 3 beers ( small ones) on the stick.  LOL............

Did I mention the S'more's on a stick too?
