Janice, I am sorry your appointment was postponed until today.  I am praying the news will be good.

Your right about the bridge..........it is my favorite and if I am correct it is actually 5 miles  from shoreline to shoreline.  We went over it in a spring snow storm one year and due to reduced mph and the wind blowing it seemed to take forever to cross it.  When driving to it from the west I can hardly wait until we round that last curve and the bridge comes into view. It truly is a great bridge and I have been over all of the bridges in San Francisco.

I am so proud of you for making quilts for such great causes.  The ones you are now working on for the military are truly a great tribute to our wounded soldiers. My husband was in the Navy, Vietnam and My son was a Marine and helped take Imelda's 1060 pairs of shoes away from her............   To bad she did not wear my size. 

So your setting records for drainage...........will we see you written up in the New England Journal of Medicine? I do hope today they will be able to give you an explanation for the continue large amout of drainage.

 They are lovely. You know what,  My grandaughter has a cankie, which is her blanket. She is 2 years old an all she says i want my cankie my cankie. This thing is shredded beyond any repair but i guess its here cuddle cloth.

Did you ever go over the chesapeake brdige in Virginia ? It is beautiful but quite scary.It takes a lifetime to get acrss thats for SHORE!! lol but beautiful.

Did your doc put in a new stitch to hold your little friend, Draino, in place? Glad he was happy with Draino's many talents!
Hopefully things will slow down soon, and your doc can send him off for a happy life in retirement.

Football fan, huh? My son's wife is a huge football fan, and she brought my son (the basketball player) along with her. Actually my sons have been Eagles fans because of Donovan McNabb, who played at Syracuse University--fairly close to where we live. They really love to follow the SU basketball team. They now live closer to Buffalo, so are cultivating a connection to the Bills (Terrell Owens--not much better).

They like the Giants, too.

Hi Janice,
How am I feeling? Hmmmmmm. Generally very good. I'm very pleased with the way the surgery improved the condition of my lungs. Mid-May, in the midst of my worst allergy season--right after a weekend of outside parties, my asthma improved about 100%. I can only attribute it to the surgery finally allowing the inflammation caused by the GERD to subside. What a relief. I was so sick of nebulizers, and constant coughing and wheezing. Thank God.

I feel like my recovery is going well. Sometimes my wrap gives me a bit of pain. Not severe...but enough to wake me up and want to grab a swallow of Maalox. It's not heartburn--just a little discomfort. Usually it's sometime after I eat something that irritates my wrap, and gives me some trouble when swallowing. As I've often discussed with Barb, I have a very sensitive and reactive stomach (just like she does), and since my wrap is created out of that reactive tissue, it's not surprising that it can cause me some trouble.

Also...I am experiencing (excuse my French) what I call a "potpourri of poop"--within the same day I can have diarrhea, soft, formed, etc, etc. There have been times when I eat and all goes well, and other times, that I've had instances of "dumping", where I get LOUD gurgling in my stomach and intestines, and of course later, diarrhea. It doesn't last long, so doesn't really concern me.

My GI tract was revised pretty significantly, so I figure that's why. Have you had any experiences like that?

Hi Janice it sounds like your coming along slow but sure. I know how hard it is to wait for things to get better.

Denise, I am so glad your doing so well, except for the dumping thing. I get that sometimes myself. I got it really bad the day before and the day of my surgery from being so stressed out about it. With all the house stuff going on that could be a factor with your touchy stomach.

Wow Marines, Army, and Navy we can all be really proud of our loved ones. I know we all appreciate any thing any one does to make it easier for them. So thanks again Janice for making those quilts. They touch a lot of lives. Foot ball hmmm? I don't really care much for it as I can't see taking perfectly good healthy bodies and bashing them together and causing pain and injury. That is just my opinion as I just can't understand why any one would want to cause pain and problems.   The talk around Wisconsin of course is the Farve saga and what a traitor he is. Oh well at least he's not a dog killer. I love dogs and can't imagine doing any thing to harm them. Oh my big news is my grandson has a middle name. He will be called Caleb Owen. The owen after his great grandpa. I think it is rather cute. Have a great night every one. Barb

I am glad your Doctor was pleased with how little Draino guy is working.  I do hope your drainage slows down in this coming week and the drain can be removed.

Sorry to hear your feeling punk tonight.  Just pamper yourself.  And for those who could not remember who has the whirlpool it is our own Janice.  Oh oh, now you will really get company. 

Now I realize you all have your fav football teams but I have to tell you we are the Vikings and we have Brett.   Brett Favre is now wearing the colors of the Packers' co-archrival Minnesota Vikings. Favre  holds almost all of the NFL's career passing records.  Well folks #  4 now belongs to the land of the Vikings................run Brett run. 

Janice, I am glad you enjoy football and are a fan.  I would bet you were homecoming Queen.

Hope you're turning the corner and will begin to feel better! I don't know about Michigan, but here in NYS, it's mighty hot, and none too comfortable. Unless you have air conditioning, it can definitely add to your discomfort.
I hope you've found a comfortable spot to relax and rest!

Good Morning Janice,

I am so happy to hear you have finally started to feel better again.  Woot Woo as Bea would say

I will have to be truthful and say I would just once like to see the Vikings beat Wisconsin. 

We live on the Mississippi just  5 miles to Wisconsin.  All my hubby's family lives in Wisconsin and my brother-in-law loves to tease us about how bad the Vikings can be. 

Last year for Christmas Eve my daughter, her hubby and the 2 girls showed up in Viking Jerseys.  What a hoot they had all day.
 
My daughter has a friend with connections to the Vikings so Karen ( my daughter) bought a Vikings Cheer Leader Calendar for her Uncle Joe and each page was autographed by each cheer leader on that page.  That calendar was a huge hit...............as it turned out one of the cheerleaders for the Vikings lived in the same Wisconsin town and Uncle Joe had just seen her at the gas station in town.

Just a little rivalry in the family makes for more fun.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin so for me I can fall either way when the Vikings play the Packers.  I cheer for the winning team..........

Barb, No problems...................I like the Packers too as that was my home state for a long time and I still consider it " going home" when I go to La Crosse.

Hi Barb,
You were in the Finger Lakes area...near Ithaca where Cornell University is located. We live north of that, but still in the Finger Lakes. We actually spent the day on one of them (Skaneateles Lake) with my son and his girlfriend, yesterday. We went to a winery, took a boat tour, and went out for dinner. It was a very enjoyable day.

I'm sure your trip through the Catskills on your way to NYC was pretty. It's especially beautiful in the fall, when the leaves change color. I'm a country girl, so although I enjoy visiting Bea's hometown, I find it overwhelming. It's so busy! I know those who reside there find it hard to believe that there would be enough interesting things going on out in the countryside. They're probably right, but I still love it!

I have really enjoyed the cool summer--much to the chagrin of my heat-loving friends. Fall is too short, but is my most favorite season. The crisp, clear weather is what I love best.

Hope you feel much better this week. Thanks for your supportive and instructional comments you shared about your own surgery recovery. My bouts with diarrhea are very strange. My stomach will take some more challenging things without complaint, then dump unexpectedly when I eat something that should be much more benign. Oh well...it's not an "all the time" thing, so I am managing just fine. I'm not thrilled with the discomfort I get in my wrap from time to time that wakes me up. Thank goodness for the gentle coating of Maalox!

Janice- Glad to hear things are better.
All this talk of travel and different states is making want to take a road trip. Well maybe I better wait til the kidney stone and ribs quit hurting. I can dream though!
