Denise, I hate that test. I can't even tell you how many I have had over the years because I had UC so bad for 10 years. It's been in remission for 12 years and they still want to keep looking up there. I had 2 polyps 3 years ago and one was precancerous so I guess I can see their point. Hope it all goes well for you. It is worth it to have a good doctor though. A good doctor is priceless.

Janice hope your doing well tonight. I just got back from my daughters house. Had a nice time seeing her, the boyfriend and my furry grand children. My little dog was really sniffing me when I got home as he loves my daughters cat and could smell her on me. Barb

Good Morning Barb,

Well I had a really good time at the cabin and the time away was very relaxing. I enjoyed my grandchildren very much.  We played a lot of cards and bean bag toss.  The girls and Grandpa went fishing.  It was windy so the fishing was not so great but they had fun.

They also took the Dobie puppies into the lake to see if they could swim...........to funny. 

Of course my Mother-in-law cooked up a storm so we ate way to much but I guess vacations are about good food and loving familes.

I hope you will soon be swimming and doing everything you enjoy. 

I missed everyone here......next time you all come with us.  Our cabin is in Siren, WI.  Barb that is not so far away for you. turn

Hi Kitt, it is so much fun to spend time with the grand kids and throw in puppies and you really have a blast. It won't be long and I'll be in the lake too. Just one little spot to go yet and it will be healed up as far as the incision. I fear the other pain is going to take a while yet and the weakness to go away. Still sore to the touch and hurts when picking things up over 5 pounds. Oh well that will come in time. I don't think I've ever heard of Siren Wisconsin. I'll have to look it up. We are in East Central Wisconsin. I bet your cabin is way up there. Very pretty country. Barb

A trip to WI sounds great it has to be alot cooler there than it is here in TX. Was supposed to have one of my grandbabies spend the night with me but she was not feeling good. She has been running a temp on and off. They took her to the doctor today, she is OK but I didnot wantto resk getting sick and having to postpone the surgery

Barb glad your hand is getting better. Give yourself time to heal and try not to do too much with your hand

Hi Mary, we did have an extra cool summer the first 2 months. Awww sorry the little one is not feeling well. That's great that they live close to you. All 3 of mine are 1200 miles away. Are you having the Nissan surgery? I hope all goes well with your surgery. Don't worry I am still being real careful about what I lift and do with my hand as it is still healing on the inside.

Kitt, I am so excited. My hand is finaly healed as far as the incision any way and I am headed to the pool tonight. It still feels really tight and feels like it will split open when I move my hand but I think that is just all the scar tissue. Well I am off to get all pruny. tongue Barb

Hi Barb,
We've really been on the go. Now that we've got most of the house things finished, and just need to maintain, we're taking some time to relax. By the end of next week I'll be back in my classroom getting it ready for the beginning of the year. It's been a busy summer with lots of hard work, but it's been a good change, so I'll be ready to go back to school. Wish I didn't have such a mountain of work getting my classroom unpacked and set up. Oh well...it'll get done eventually.

We have two weekend getaways...not this coming weekend, but the next two...the first one is a night at a resort hotel that the kids gave us a certificate for, then a wedding over Labor Day Weekend in Ottawa, Canada. We're staying 3 nights there, to make a little mini vacation of it. After that, it's back to the school grind, which is intense!

I'm glad to hear that your hand is looking better. That's encouraging. The body is an amazing thing. Even with all our problems, it still manages to heal itself!

I'm having some of my teacher friends over for lunch tomorrow, so it'll be another busy day...cooking and preparing for them. I haven't seen them at all this summer so it'll be nice to catch up.

Denise, that's great that you have some down time planned. You really deserve it. I am off to bed. I'm tired out after my swim at the pool. Have fun with your friends tomorrow. That will be nice to catch up with them. I'm amazed my hand finaly closed up and is healing. I think the inside will take a while yet. Barb

Barb, congratulations!!! I am so glad to hear this is finally healing and you can get in the water :)

Looks like summer has turned out to be pretty darned good after all!!!

Thanks eveyone. I am very excited about it being healed shut. It still feels so tight and like it will pop open but I am trying to be careful. I think I would cry if that happened at this point. I am putting skin conditioning oil on it seems to make it not feel so tight. I am just so thrilled though to be able to swim again. Now if things keep improving with the pain and weakness I'll be happy. Will see what the doc has to say next week. Now if I could ride my bike too it would be the perfect end to the summer. I'll see what that doc says next week too. Have a great night every one. Barb

Hi Barb,
Good idea keeping your hand moisturized. We went to a baseball game (AAA)tonight. It was a beautiful night, and so relaxing to watch the game. Our team won, which was a bonus.

Hi Denise, yes I am hoping that will help. It does feel less tight after I put the oil on so I think it is helping. My sister put the oil on her scar after they removed skin cancer from her leg and the doctor wanted to know how it healed so fast and looked so good. He bought some of the oil from her he was so impressed. I'm glad you had fun at the game. It was a nice night out here in Wisconsin too. We are supposed to get rain though at some point. Thanks Denise, it's coming along slow but sure. I sure wish Bill and Janice were feeling better like us. I feel so bad for them both. They have been through so much in such a short time. All we can do though is be there for them and pray for them. It really does help to have the support of others who understand. I'm off to bed. Have a great night. Barb

Thanks Bill, now it's your turn and Janice's for a break. I hope the skin toughens up a bit more before our trip because it is pretty new and thin right now. I can't have that breaking open while playing with the grandkids. tongue I am so excited about seeing them. Only 12 more days. Barb

Hi all, I saw my doc for a 6 week check on my hand. I about flipped when he pressed on my incision and then said that's where alot of the pain was coming from. He then told me he was going to do a injection to help with that and it was going to hurt pretty bad. That is not what you want to hear before you get a shot. Well I'll tell you he was right as he moved it around in there near my incison I thought I was going to pass out as I gripped the arm of the chair with my other hand stomped my foot and was saying OMG or and over. I was having a hard time bliking back the tears too. Then he proceeded to give me shots in both feet as I have tendoni*** in them both and I am willing to take any pain relief with out taking pain meds that I can get. He said to just keep doing every day things and that would strengthen my hand and be therapeutic with healing. He said he would see how it was going in 3 weeks and will decide then if I need OT on the hand. He told me to keep chrocheting the blanket for Caleb as that is therapeutic for my hand. Saddly he told me that if he does my other hand surgery in December it will be at a hospital 20 miles further from me so it would be 50 mile trip to get there. He did say though he will still accept my insurance. He is also taking his awesome assitant with him. I told him today that I didn't trust or like the other doc in that office and there was no way they were every going to touch me. He gave me a big hug before I left today. His bedside manor is so great and his knowledge and caring for his patients is a big plus in my book. I apologized for being such a pest to his assitant and Craig told me I had not been a pest and he was glad he could help me out so I am very glad he will be going with my doctor to the new place. I will gladly drive the extra miles to see them both. When my doctor told me he did not like the way things are handled there and management I told him how when he and Craig were gone I had threatend to pour glue in the incision so they would do something as I didn't like the other doc there or his nurses he smiled and said yeah I know. I may try to get the surgery done before he leaves that hospital just so I'm not driving that far in the winter for surgery. At least if the roads are bad and it's just a check up I can reshedule. I'll write the update on my tailbone in the thread on the PA forum. Probably tomorrow since I need to get to bed. I confess I just read your last post (and not the rest of the thread) as it's 4am (yes, I'm awake!) but I wanted to comment on your injection. I think you probably got a cortisone injection and I've had a few of them and the first one you could have peeled me off the ceiling! However, after the 3rd one (it took all 3 over a period of several months) the tendon problems stopped, so it was worth it. But those suckers are painful!!!!

I hope it helps, but you might not get immediate relief. The only good thing about the injections is that the pain is horrible but doesn't last long. I developed a hypnosis script for myself after I did the first one, imagining that I had put my hand in a huge snow drift as a way of numbing it. And I don't watch! Just keep saying to myself it will be over soon...

I'm probably rambling!

OUCH! I hate those injections. I get them 5 at a time in my ribs. In fact I am due for them today if I ever get out of this dang hospital. I pray the injection works and things are better for your trip. You have got to be getting really excited now!
