Any info on the Esophyx procedure

Can anyone give me any more information on the Esophyx procedure that they have had done. I would like to know if they have gotten better and any side effects that they may have. My son was suposed to have had his done on the 6th but it was psotponed. There was an issue with another doctor (not my son's doc) and the doctor ripped a guys esophagous. He blamed it on the equipment. So everything had to be rechecked. It wound up being the doctor's fault and the equipment was released to be used. Has anyone heard anything about this happening anywhere else.

We would like to know any good or bad or anything on this procedure. Our son is only 13 and this is a fairly new thing out, so we are concerned if this is something we should have done now or wait a while to see how it all goes.

I've heard that an inexperienced doctor can cause that kind of damage.

Ask your doctor how many he has done. Less than 100 is not enough experience in my book.

 My doctor has done over 130 of them and teaches other how to do it. His own nurse has trusted him to do her 17 yr. old daughter's procedure. He will take out of town or out of state patients. He tries to get everything (preop, his own endo, and the surgery) all within one week. (Dr. Vito John Bagnato, Albany, GA)

My Esophyx surgery is scheduled on my next holiday in Dec.   I'm not worried.
