Hi Mary,
Patience! You're not a month out yet. Things will improve over time. If you can surrender to your recovery, and not try to force it, or rail against it, you will find that your recovery will be so much easier. I know it can be worrying, and you begin to think you'll always experience these symptoms, but you will get better! You've got a ways to go in your recovery, but you'll get there. You've had a major revision of your GI tract, and it'll take a while to adjust to the changes. It's hard to trust, but if you do, you'll find peace.
It's tough when you're not feeling perfect yet, and have to return to work. Could you revisit your doctor, and request a written directive to keep you out of danger? Do you have a family doctor who will do that? My experience has been that my docs will pretty much keep me out as long as I feel the need. My surgeon, released me, but said he would keep me out as long as I feel I need to be out. My family doc is usually protecting me more that I want to be protected!
I wouldn't give up on that route yet. Be persistent.
Good luck!
Denise
PS--have you tried Bean-O before eating? Also, be sure to consider the gas potential of your food choices.
Take care!
