Joy, I'm with you I get anxiety about the ER, hospitals, surgery, scopes, and Angioplasty. Yuck! So tired of all of it. You get to that point. Right now I'm at the point if one more thing goes wrong medically I am going to go over the edge. Sorry to hear about your asthma acting up. Mine is still now under control like it used to be and I have taking the treatments but they keep me alive and breathing so that's the important thing. I know I'll just have to keep pluggng along no matter what comes my way because that's just life.

Anne, your right Janince did say the right things.

Bill you poor thing. I can't beilive a kidney stone again. At least your getting good help though this time around. I know what that's like to have a bad doctor and good doctor and it's really a pain.

Kitt your wonderful. I admire you too. I am praying all goes well with your biopsy and those blisters just go away quickly. I do love to do certain things  no matter what i feel like or I find a way to do them a little differently so I can still have fun no matter what. Well it's off to bed for this old girl. You definitely have nothing to apologize for. I am very grateful you wrote what you did. If there is something you need to say by all means let it out. That's what we are here for. Besides, it helped me too and I thank you for that.

Litt- Once again you are the bringer of awesome information! Thank you. I will ask my PCP again about the meds. HE seemed to think the Atenolol he added to my Diovan would suffice instead of the adivan I was taking. I realize it can be addictive, but sometimes it is necessary. I know it really helped the last time I was going through this stone issues. I can tell I am having the same issues again. My BP is staying up again, I am very easily agitated also. I find it very hard to relax also which I believe is part of the excess pain I am having with this darn stent. When they added the Adivan last time the pain did lower considerably because I wasn't so tense all the time.

It has been another one of those nights. I am just about to the point of either calling the doctors again or just heading to the ER. Neither of the meds they prescribed last night are helping at all. I am so tired of growling and screaming every time I go to the bathroom. Which is about every 10 to 15 minutes now. Just as I think it will ease up I have to go again. They said drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water would ease things up, but it hasn't. I am actually drinking more like 12 to 14 glasses because I am drinking 16 to 20 ounce bottles.

Well I am off to scream again smhair

What a night this has been! It's been like this....Scream dribble dribble.....scream dribble dribble......Scream! I am going to call the urologist tomorrow and see what can be done. I can't take this anymore. Something has got to give. Either the stent has to come out or I need better pain control. I know I should go to the ER, but I am s sick of hanging out there and answering all the questions over and over. Getting poked and stuck. Having CTs done, more blood tests, urine tests, etc. It is just so demeaning too. I am tired of having to cover my butt all the time to go everywhere in the hospital because they never want to let me keep my undies on. Every time they try to start an IV it's a 3 to 4 stick ordeal because my veins apparently have decided to play hide n seek now. That is where the PICC line was great. Sorry just wanted to vent some tonight I guess.

Dear Bill,

Dang, I am so sorry and you have every right to feel upset, frustrated and just plain worn out from all this garbage you are going through.

If you are not able to rest it is awfully hard to heal from anything.  Take your Doctor by the throat and tell him you need the Ativan to help you through or else perhaps Xanax would help, or Klonopin or one of the Benzos but worrying about an addiction when you are having acute attacks of pain is really not the issue here.  Pain control and rest are the major issues.  confused

I am saying a prayer that you get some rest and relief of pain today.  Remember, be your own best advocate and ask for what you need.  Don't let them push you off with Atenolol as it is no substitute for an antianxiety medication.  Atenolol is a beta blocker drug. Beta blockers are proven effective in the treatment of performance and social anxiety.  Unless you plan on going on stage soon then performance anxiety is not your major issue,  capice ?  turn

At least ask the staff at the hospital to give you 2 gowns so you can use one for a robe......argh !

Thanks for the giggle...again. You are always good for that my friend. I have talked with my urologist's nurse and she is going to get back to me on what he wants to do. I still haven't slept and I am going so often the orange goes away before the next does is due. That leads to severe burning along with the other pain. I am hoping he decides to remove this thing today. I am not sure I can take another day and night of this.
Guess I should double up in the Atenolol when they ask me to perform at the campsites and such. I always get asked to play guitar and sing, but I don't think my voice is good enough. Everyone says they like to hear me sing, but I don't believe them. I'll sing all day and night for my family, but lock up for anyone else.

Oh Bill, I can't believe you have to go through this again. Sometimes you wonder how much a person can take. I know I have wondered myself lately. You'll have to check out the pandcrazy thread to find out what I'm talking about. I also wonder in regards to you my friend too. Just know that I am praying for you and rooting for you to get through this and on your way back to recovery again. You have had one rough ride this year it's about time things smooth out for you. Howdy-
Well They did remove the stent this afternoon. They also said the duct looks good for now. What a relief. Wn=hen I woke up the pain was completely gone. Some of that was due to the pain meds they gave me there, but it isn't anywhere near what it was this morning. I can handle this. Ok, so now I am going to try and stay kidney stone free. Unfortunately they told me I am probably going to have some again, but who knows when that will be. I did get a few hours sleep this afternoon too. Thanks for all the support it helped a ton to get through this.

Whoooooohoooooooo Bill,

Good for you, feeling spunky are you? 

One of my relatives has lung cancer and is on O2 so he was granted a permit to sit in the car out in the woods and shoot from the window of the car. (This was in North Dakota)  Well now being a nurse and knowing how Oxygen and fire don't mix I had visions of him blowing himself to heck..............you do get a flare from the barrel of a shot gun when your shoot it, right?

As it turned out he never saw a deer, thank you Lord, Bambi and Uncle were both saved that day !

Just be careful in the deer stand.  I believe my husband has one in every tree on the land up north.  rolleyes

LOL KItt...I am glad your uncle is ok too !!

It is nice that he was able to go out and sit in his car though. I am from a family of avid hunters and my son and daughter are both hunters. Ashleey shot her first pheasant last year. She was very proud. They are going again with their father and her new husband..in fact they meet at the lodge this coming weekend!

So I am glad that your uncle got to enjoy this pastime (sp?) !

Bill..oh Bill...I hope that you find relief now and we will just pray that those stones dont appear !

I know what it feels like to pee when I have had a urinary/bladder  infection and  I felt so bad for you.

We love you Bill..!

Maybe you can even go back to work soon ! That would make you feel better too wont it ?

Yea, Bill! You're feeling better!

My father loves to go hunting. He hasn't gone for a long time due to the expense of a hunting licence.

I'm not a hunter, folks. I once shot a little bird out of curiousity with a BB gun, when I was a teen. It didn't die right away and I had to put the gun to it's head and finish it off. I promised myself I would never kill another animal except in self-defence, it was dying, or I'm starving to death. It bothered me for a long time.

Hi everyone. Tom is on his way to ND with my cousins, going for a week of duck and pheasant hunting..he would hunt just about anything if I'd let him...I draw the line at some thing, just can't deal with the thought of some things..but Tom hunts deer, turkey, duck, pheasant, other birds...and then there's fishing!

Bill, check out the accommodation that you may qualify for in your State; you may be able to get something for this years' deer hunt.

I'm glad you feel better! Let's keep our fingers crossed X that you stay this way!!

Bill, so glad to hear your doing better. hope things stay that way and no more of those nasty little stones. Hope you get to go hunting this year too, but don't do any thing to hurt yourself or aggravate things like your ribs or shoulder. It's not worth it if It causes you any pain. I speak from experience. We have a lot of hunters on my mom and my dad's side of the family but I've never been one myself. I've done a lot of fishing as my grandpa brought us a lot of times and my sisters and I would go too. I haven't fished in years though. I wouldn't eat any of the fish around here with all the paper mill pollution any way. I ate enough of it as a kid. Barb

Hi Y'all-
Well no hunting today. After feeling very frisky last night, reality set in today. No where near as bad as it was, but still a little sore while walking and lifting my leg. Thought it was best to wait another day or 2 before climbing a tree. Besides I need to go out in the yard and make sure my shoulder is going to handle the bow. I might as well get it good and sore for Friday's ortho appointment. I am still off work until the 17th and I can't see the company doctor until the 19th. So hopefully I will be back to work the night of the 19th.
Sure am getting tired of these bruises on the backs of my hands every week. Seems like I manage to get an IV in each hand every single week here lately.I must say I am smiling a bit more today though. Something to do with less pain I think! Anyhow, I am looking for some Divx movies to watch with Michelle and just wanted to say "Howdy" and let everyone know I am still kicking.

Bill, I hate IV's. Can't even tell you how many I've had over the years. Way too many. I had 3 different ones my last stay in TN and then had to have another when I got home at the ER. Nice Welcome home. Hopefully you won't need any for a long time now. I'm nursing a very sore arm from the tetnus shot I had to get thanks to the nasty little tick. I forgot how bad those hurt. I've had an icy hot patch on it all day which helped a lot. Take it easy and take things slow until you heal up good. Take care and have a good night watching movies. Barb

Howdy peeps!
Feeling a bit more peppy today again. If I could just get rid of the bladder spasms. I hate those. Always feel like I got to go pee. Annoying!
Besides that all seems well in that department. Of course now we are back t rainy weather s it is dismal outside. Supposed to be a great weekend though once Saturday gets here. Even saying it might get to about 64 degrees by Monday! Well got to go play with the puppy.....Aussies need a ton of attention!

Good to hear your feeling better today...........it is snowing here !  Want to build a snowman ? 

Hubby is headed up north in morning to see how many deer he can see smhair Like Janice's hubby mine also hunts whatever he can and the one I disliked most was wild boar hunts.............I would go along and then park my self in a nice upscale hotel while he went on to the campsite and slept in the bunk house.  devil Wild boar, the other white meat. smilewinkgrin

Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and remember to keep on moving forward.

I am planning on an evening hunt tomorrow. then a morning and evening Saturday. I have to wait to go out after the kids get ready for homecoming. My son is graduated, but his G/F is a senior and my daughter is a freshman. So I have to take pics before they head off. Unfortunately the football game is canceled. The team we were supposed to play is in the middle of a teacher strike so no game this year. Well actually that's not entirely true. The girls are going to have a powder puff game Juniors against seniors. That should be interesting!

Bill sounds like fun. We always had fun taiking pics of our daughter all dressed up for homecomming dances. Our son never got into that. Well It's about time for me to get to bed as I have an hour drive out to see my hand doctor in his new office further away. Oh well I feel he is worth the drive for an excellent doctor. I'm just sooooo sick of docotrs though even though I really like this doctor and he has helped me. Maybe the drive will be pretty. My eyes are getting heavy so better get going. Hope your hunt goes good Bill and your doctor's appointment. Barb

I get to find out what the EGD biopsies are for my barretts tomorrow and then find out if they can do anything for the shoulder at the ortho dr.
I got an email from my GI surgeon in Chicago today asking how things have been going. I didn't expect to hear from him again. I did let him know about the shoulder pain, because I am still suspicious that it is from the nerves in the stomach area like when the gas doesn't get out and causes pain in the shoulders.I took some antacids and a prevacid solutab last night when it flared uo and it went away in a couple minutes. I am thinking this is not good. I'll see what the GIs say and what he emails back.If all I have to do is resume PPIs, so be it.
