sum dont come apart at all.. my great aunt had a nissen bout 18 years ago and is still without heartburn.. others it fails over time..
there are a number of other surgies bouncing around like linx (not approved.. yet), and nissen has been round a long while, however less and less people hav it done because they react so well to the ppi's. The esophyx feature has been done over in europe for years, is less invasive, and people are said to be back to normal after a month, however my friend who had it done, his came undone after about a year. Apparently the long lasting on it is very small but can last up to a couple years, and is very easily reversed.
