Hi Kitt, you are sooooooo very lucky to have your granddaughter so close. They are very fun at that age. My little princess turned 5 on Sunday and when we sang to her she started crying after. From what I understood she missed her mom. My son told her to knock it off and quit fake crying. He told me she does that all the time. His wife sent me a picture of Isabella with her cake and she didn't have her big smile like grandma. She also sent one of all three little ones together. Can't believe how much little Caleb has changed already.I got him an orange Onsie that says baby's fir I've decided I am going to have to try to be civil to my son and his wife since I don't want to be cut out of my grandkids lives. However I am going to continue to point things out to my son and give suggestions and when his wife says how bad Isabella is I am going to tell her that if she is given positive attention and reinforcement that it will go a long way. On another subject have you talked to the doctor about your leg yet. Just wondering.  

Hey Bill, I was on my feet all day today. My legs still feel good but man is my back sore. I can remember rib cramps when I was pregnant with my daughter. That was not fun. I feel bad for you with cramps all over like that. The legs alone are bad enough. I laughed really hard when I read the thing about the poltergiest. Maybe I have one too. I have been called a walking disaster area by family and friends. My doctor told me I'm special when I saw him Monday when I asked why my arm was still so sore a week after the tetnus shot. He's my PC and I really like him. I like a doc with a sense of humor and compassion. I had a good laugh with some of my seniors today. We were talking about my year and I told them It hadn't been such a great year and then they told my what year has been and  reminded me about my foot in 08 and my back then when we got to 07 I had  to say it wasn't so great after my accident and we all cracked up. I tend to look at the humor in things. Makes life much easeir no matter what your going through. The screen is starting to get blurrry so time to get to bed.  Goog ninght. Barb

My laundry list of diseases include, Ulcetive Colitis, GERD, Asthma, Alergies, CAD stent to LAD 1/4/05, Fibromyalgia, TMJ and a deteriorating disk in lower back and cysts on ovaries. Also chronic pain from a moped accident 11/9/07 which left me with back, hand, knee and foot problems. 

Meds, Nexium,  pepcid, carafate, Advair 250/50, Pro air inhaler, Plavix, Nitroquick, Benadryl, Natural progesterone cream, fish oil, calcium, lecithin, biotin, flax oil, magnesium, CoQ 10, vitamin C, vitamin D.

Proud Mother of a US Marine Seargent (son) & a daughter who is a certified dog trainer! Also furry children Abby(rat terrier) and Gizmo(chihuahua)

Proud grandma of Isabella Rose, Keegen and furry grandchildren Kayu, Sophie, Abby & Lucy.

I am so sorry to hear Isabella is being put down, that is soooooooooo not right.  I do understand how hard it is to be the Gma and try to keep a relationship intact with your daughter-in-law as they have the power to keep you from seeing  your Grandchildren.  A type of blackmail if you don't play by their rules.  I have had to really watch myself and try to be tactful but make my points gently.  It is really hard.  The children are so innocent.

I wish you all the best with your situation and know that you will find a way to make it OK.
I saw the Doctor and got the "all labs OK" also had ultrasound, normal so no reason for why the leg swells that they know of. 

I guess I need to learn to walk on my hands.  Now that would be a sight.  nono

I did finally get the lab results. My potassium is normal, but at the lower end of it. Also my blood sugar is elevated again. He wants to recheck it later they said. It was elevated a couple months ago, but my A1C was normal.

HI y'all
Well I am thinking it might have been the cholesterol med causing me so many muscle cramp issues. It's been 4 days since I stopped taking the Zocor and it has let up considerably today. y doctor wanted me to wait 7 days and see what happens and if it goes away he wants to switch the meds.

Kitt, I did contact her step mother by text and email today. Can't bring myself to talk to her yet. Told her I'm losing my voice which it is very hoarse still. I got keegan a spider man costume that will be mailed out tomorrow morning along with a babies first halloween and a halloween shirt for Isabella too. Oh and Keegan I got a spider man costume as they couldn't find anything his size out there. I made each of the kids a halloween card too and got them some glow necklaces to wear while trick or treating. I got a picture back from her on my phone of baby Caleb getting his bath in the sink. He is so gosh darn cute. He's going to be a Marine in dress blues, can't wait to see that.

Man is my hand that I haven't had surgery one ever hurt. The rain seems to bother it and we have had plenty of that lately. I'm glad you got your leg checked out. I'm supposed to wear support hose all the time because of my veins and swelling. Both a result of my bus accident.

Hey Bill, hope you are finding some relief from the cramping and pain. Still no cramps for me. Seems it is the calcium/magnesium/zink combo I am taking. I'm just relieved to be rid of those gosh awful leg cramps. You better ask your urologist though before taking any calcium though. Well I am off to bed. Lots to do tomorrow and then all day scrapbooking. Barb

They said calcium is a huge no no right now. I am going to call my doctor Monday and ask about te other cholesterol med.

I am glad to hear the cramps have let up now that you are off the medication and if that cures the cramps whooooo hooooo.  There are other meds out there and I am sure there is one that will not have this side effect for you.  I am so happy to read this good news.  ((((Hugs))))

Oh sweetie, you are such a wonderful Gma and I remember buying the pumpkin sleeper for my G-daughter, Kayla when she was 4 months old for her first Halloween. 

I am glad to hear you sent that email and I sure hope it does some good.  I am glad you at least got to see pictures of the little one via the phone.

I just realized the other day that one of my daughter-in-laws tolerates us but is not interested in having a persoanl relationship with us.  I had a dream and I finally had to let it go. She is a good person but lives her life and we see our grandchild so I just let the comments roll.  You have a different situation.

Try to remember to guard against anger. If it helps, consider the fact that your anger is actually a precious gift to the impossible person. Anything you do or say while angry will be used against you over and over again. Impossible people tend to have amazing memories, and they will not hesitate to use a nearly endless laundry list of complaints from the past against you. Five years from now, you could be hearing about the angry remark you made today (which you didn't even mean in the first place). Impossible people will seize anything that provides them the opportunity to lay blame like it was gold.

Live as an example of tolerance, patience, humility, and even some kindness (as difficult as that may be)--because these are all the things that the impossible person is not  very good at. We are all influenced by the people in our environment--they don't have to be perfect all the time and neither do you. Give respect because you are human. If you don't receive respect, that's -sadly- their problem.

You have my respect and caring, my support and love.

Hi Bill so glad those cramps let up for you. I hadn't had any for 3 days and yesterday at scrapbooking I got a horrible one in the back of my upper leg. I think I am going to have to make going to the gym just to sit in the hot tub and do stretches a regular thing like every other day. I won't make it there today though because my daughter and probably my youngest sister are coming over to patch our hole in the back of the house in the facia board. My daughter and her boyfriend will fix it in the spring. Hope you are having a rain free day like we are up here. It's a rather nice temperature too. When I took zocor after my stent was put in it had a huge affect on my short term memory. It got to the point where my boss said something to me about it. After 6 months on it I was left with permanent short term memory loss. I can't take any of the other statins because they make my stomach so bad it affects my asthma.

Hi Kitt, thanks for the words of wisdom and encouragement. My first daughter in law was like yours where she didn't really want a relationship. That's what is so sad about this is that this one wants a relationship and we have common interests. I just can't stand the way she treats my granddaughter and it makes it hard for me to want anything to do with her, but am going to have to try for the sake of my grandchildren. I'm also hoping I can pass along advice when she says the kids are being bad if I'm talking to her. I'm glad you get to see your grand daughter though that's the most important thing. Well I am off to the store to get supplies to plug up the hole in the back of the house. Barb

I have been feeling rather down lately and thought if I took Kitts suggestion and started my own thread...it would help.

Unfortunately it hasn't.

I love you guys and yetI kind of feel alone on Oakleys thread. It's ok that Bills thread is so busy because I care for you Bill and your health and I love to read and chat with you all there. What has happened though is that I feel that when I started to co that a couple months ago I was told that it would be better to start my own thread. So...finally I did.

However it seems that this thread has now become Barbs thread too and that is also very fine IF it is ok that we all share there...all of us, including me. I dont need my own thread...doesnt matter but I feel a little dumb having started one and noone with the exception of Kitt, Bill and Joy and Jane once stopping by to say hi.

Barb. you are actually hurting my feelings by not commenting on my thread at all. Is it because of past comments by me?

If so, lets move on...I have.

I care about you as well as everyone else here and well...i am just blue about all this.

Hi Anne, I'm sorry, I hardly ever check out the main board I just go to the threads that I get emails on so I just go directly from my email there fore by passing the main board. I had a couple of threads too where I had been talking about my things, but this seems to be the place to hang out so that's where I have been. I don't have a lot of time to check out all the threads. I have 2 jobs and all my medical stuff I'm dealing with right now so have been pretty busy. I also have problems keeping with my short term memory so it is hard fro me to keep track of more than one or 2 threads at a time. Sorry hope this makes you feel better. We all care about you here too. So just jump in any time you want to and we'll all do what we can to help you out. Every one here is so great and have helped me through too surgeries this year and my latest health crisis and family crisis. I hope your feeling better soon and keep stopping by to talk to all of us. Well my hubby got a deer this week-end, a doe but at least he has another notch on his belt.  He is headed up north again on Friday.

Have the cramps stayed away now that your off the medication?

As for me, I am still working on healing all the sores from the Cryotherapy for the precancerous skin lesions and it will be 3 weeks on Thursday.  I did have the one positive cancer biopsy which will be removed on 11/24 right before Thanksgiving.

Anne, I am sorry you have been feeling down and I did post to you in your thread.  Please do know that whenever your feeling down or anxious you are sure welcome to join us in the A & P Forum too as the members  in that forum are wise and supportive.  It is a great place to vent about your feelings. (((Hugs)))

Same for you my friend, if your feeling down about your grandbaby we have some great members in A & P who would love to help you learn to deal with anxiety.  I know I for one have anxiety and just talking with others re how to overcome my own anxieties is a wonderful way of learning to deal with my issues.  Just food for thought.

So how are you feeling and please do keep right on posting here in Bill's thread, in your own thread or wherever you are comfortable.

I can find all of you so please feel free to roam the range.

Ooops don't know what I did, but at least it wasn't lost I guess. Kitt I just want you to know what a strong lady I think you are for all you have been through. We can all learn a lot from you. I thought of you today when I was in my car with the sun finally shining and I put some sunblock on my hands because it doens't matter what the temp is out the sun is the sun and can cause damage any time of year. Hi Kitt, been busy with doctors the last 2 days. Heart yesterday. He talked me into doing an aggressive program that was started at mayo clinic to get heart patients healthy. Don't know how well I will do with all my current health problems but will give it a real good try. Between the 2 of us we decided against another nuclear study and will see how things go. They can't tell if any thing is wrong with my heart by doing a regular stress test so have to do a nuclear to tell for sure. Saw the allergy doc today he is really nice and very funny. Love a doc with a sense of humor. I tried to talk him into taking the dog allergy off of my chart as my asthma doc is going to have a fit. I may just tell him the dogs are gone just to get him off my back. I have a ton of allergies which I knew about some of them already but wow didn't know there were so many molds and of course am allergic to all of them along with about every thing else in the world. I got all the tests back from the regular doc sort of ok a few things off but he's not worried about them. He's sending me off to the gynecologist to see about the incontinence. If it's not one thing it's another. Last night was a very rough night for me as I was all ready to get back into exercise and took a treatment before I went to the gym and the pool lanes were full so I went in the hot tub first and was fine until I bent over to stretch my leg and my rib cramped up so bad that I was sitting there with tears running down my face. When it finally let up I was afraid going from the hot to the cooler water of the pool would cause more cramps in who knows where on my body since it seems to be making it's way up my body. I was so bummed out I went and stood in the shower and cried. My doctor doesn't know what is causing the cramps and doesn't want to address it until the incontinence thing is taken care of first. I told his nurse that I wouldn't be pestering him about it except it is impacting my life in a big way. Maybe the gynecologist will have an answer. I just want to scream. I can't handle this many health problems at once.

Bill, oh my goodness I sure hope you got rid of your cramp problems. I can't imagine having them like you have had. My rib is still sore. The nurse told me to make sure I am drinking enough, because dehydration can cause the cramps too. I drink a lot of water already for my asthma so don't think that is the problem. I thought I had gotten rid of it with the calcium. Well time to take my meds and get to bed. Hi to evey one else. Hope you are all well tonight. Barb

I am excited to hear you are looking at the Mayo program and if you ever have to come to Mayo in Rochester, please do let me know as I would love to meet you in person and I am just 1 hour from Mayo clinic.

I understand completely about not wanting to have dog allergies listed as I know how much you love your sweet dog and how much comfort pets are to us. They accept us unconditionally always, even when we yell at them for getting into something they come right back for love and hugs.

I am sorry your gym experience was not as good as you would have liked but do be proud of yourself for going.  The shower is a great place to shed tears and the warm water is soothing too.

I do want you to be proud of all the good things you do and know that I am very proud of how you always keep going like the Energizer Bunny, never giving up and always having a kind word for others.  You are special and please know your in my prayers .

Hoping your Isabella is doing OK.  If you have a picture, we woud love to see it or send it to me in email.  :-)

Good to hear your hubby got one. I still haven't made it out for a second time. Back t taking the pain meds on a 4 hour schedule until I can get in to see the doctor on the 2nd. He had to go out of town and I cant get in until the 2nd for the injections. Sleep is hard to come by again.

Well tomorrow is my follow up to my follow up EGD. I am just so thrilled! I am thinking things will be more sore than usual since they want to dig deeper for biopsies this time. Oh boy! My other doctor took me off work until Monday for the ribs since I can't get in until then.

Joy that gives me hope. Did you get shots? That's what i'm leaning towards. I don't seem to be allergic to my dog but my daughters big malamute/german shepard mix bothers me and so do pomeranians so I already suspected. I'm the same with cats but can not live wiht them as I broke out in hives on top of the asthma issues when my daughters sweet cat Sophie lived here for a few months.
Bill I can't even imagine the pain you are in. I couldn't even take it for a little bit. Cramps are an awful thing to deal with. I hope the firjgue it out soon. My chiropractor suggested I take 750 milligrams magnesium to help with my cramping. I'll let you know if it works.

Kitt, I am kind of excited about it too. Sometimes when you have a doctor or nurse pushihng you it mkes a difference. I tend to do well in programs that are geared toward my diet and an exercise program. I'll let you know how it's going. I don't know if i'' ever I have to go to mayo since my doctors office now does the program. But if I would I'll let you know. I would love to meet you. I'm going to try the gym again so maybe with the magnesium there won't be any cramps and the with the treatments not breathing problems. I don't know how my little Isabella is. I'll have to figure out how to put the pictures on the computer and then to get them into here I have no idea how. I'm going to call this weekend and talk to the kids. I am also going to get a web cam for us and one for them so I can really see the kids when I talk to them and see what's going on more clearly. Well the energizer bunny has run out of power for the night as my meds have kicked in. Long day tomorrow with trick or treating until 7 pm down town and the senior center is involved with it. Well I will have to get on down on my knees and start to pray harder for you to find relief from the pain.  I am so very sorry for all you have been through and yet you continue to be so supportive and caring to all here in the forum.

I wish I had a magic wand.  (((((((((hugs)))))))).

Hubby is happy and is head back up north on Friday.  I am lonely when he is gone but he loves to hunt so much that I am happy he is able to enjoy the outdoors and being out among the beauty of the woods.

I am glad your Doctor is able to do the Mayo program from your own city but if you should ever come this way, do let me know. 

I think you will do well and like you I do better with a structured program and someone to hold me accountable.  I wish you the best with this program and will look forward to your updates.

This is the first time I've had cats inside my house. I'm surprise I'm not reacting to them.
However, I live on a very busy road and too many animals get killed by the cars, so I have to keep them inside for safety.

Joy, they told me that a person could even go into anaphalactic shock because they are giving you small doses of what your allergic too and they gradually increase it over time to get you to build up an immunity. I'm hoping it will work for me and hopefully not make things worse. Too bad it didn't work for you.

Kitt, I know it should be a good program. It'll be a bit hard to stick too I'm sure through the holidays. I have a sweet tooth. I didn't do too well tonight as I was really hungry and very busy and the candy was right there. My sister went and got me a couple of egg rolls for dinner. I don't think I have ever made so much popcorn at one time. I think we had 200 or more kids that came for candy and popcorn at the senior center for the down town festivities. I am exhausted. The kids were so cute though. It made me miss my grand kids. My sister came with her grand daughter and then my other came with her little girl and boy and my other sis came to hang out with the kids because she is a big kid herself.
I got kind of bummed out at work today as my boss wasn't so nice and I don't want to deal with any more health problems. I was afraid to tell my boss that I have another appointment next week with yet another doctor so I just didn't tell her and left a note on her desk instead. I couldn't believe they got me in that quick to see the gynecologist about my incontinence problem. If my boss gets nasty about it I will probably just start crying as I'm pretty much at the end of my rope as far as dealing with any more problems including her. Well I better get ready for bed and get to bed soon as sleep will help me feel better and deal with all my current issues. I hope your sores are healing up good and that Bill got some sleep and pain relief. Hope every one else is doing good and have a great night. Barb
