To the guys, I have Webroot and find it is great.........boy the whole screen goes on full alert when it senses a threat.

I had a not so good day at work and am trying to recover. Tomorrow is my last full time day at this school and next week I work Monday, Thursday and Friday at different schools.

This week-end I plan to catch up with all.

I have to tell you all that I started laughing after reading through the posts going from flu virus to computer virus. That could get kind of confusing.

Joy I hope your feeling better soon. You don't have asthma do you? I sure hope not. Sorry to hear about your friend and all your coworkers. I've been at my part time job for 15 years and I'm the only original person left at my house (group home). I can't even tell you how many have come and gone there. My full time job has just been me and my boss for 9 years. That's wonderful that you are going to keep in touch with your friend.

Anne hope you are staying healthy. It's not easy these days with all the stuff floating around. I hope you got your shots. I'm still waiting for my seasonal flu shot but so glad I was able to get the H1N1.

Kitt, sorry you had a bad day. I hope your feeling better tonight. I hope tomorrow goes much better for you. I will be gone part of the weekend as I am planning on going to the Milwaukee county zoo since it is family day and free and it is also supposed to be nice. I wanted to go so bad this year to see the new Meerkat enclosure. They are so cute. I haven't been there is years so this should be a lot of fun. I can't wait. I just hope my asthma doesn't kick up but I can't live my life and continue to have fun if I worry about that all the time. I'll have my machine with me so I feel relatively comfortable about it. I'm really excited about going to the zoo with my sister and her granddaughter. My hubby is charging up the camcorder batteries and my camera batteries. He likes to do the camcorder and I like the camera. It should be fun.

Bill hope all went well with your appointment today and that they found an answer to your pain issues and the barrettes. I hope you get an easier job. I am going to have my daughters boyfriend look into putting the antivirus on my computer that you were talking about. He takes care of my computer, cars and house repairs as well as my daughter and her house. He's such a sweet heart. Well it's time for bed since my pill is starting to kick in. Barb

Joy, I am so sorry about your friend and I know you will be there for her, please do.  She will need you and she will be so happy to know you still want to spend time with her.  When I retired from my fulltime position all of my friends I worked with moved on and I was all of a sudden adrift in a vast ocean of lonliness which only added to my depression. I still mourn the loss of my friends but have learned to accept that life goes on and it is always changing but the feeling of being abandoned by all my peers from work is still with me.  It is like I just stopped existing.

That is what brought me to HealingWell in the first place was my depression.  I am doing so much better now and much of it is being able to have contact with awesome people like yourself.

Anne,  Get your prayer group out as it seems a lot of members and their friends need some special prayers to get through some rough times. I will be right beside you offering up prayers of healing for all in need.

Barb,  Wow, the zoo, I have never been to that zoo but have been to some good ones.  I know you will have a wonderful time so crank up that camcorder and get it all down on film..............then you can put it on YourTube !!

I was scheduled to give H1N1 flu shots on next  Friday to the teachers in our school district but the supply did not arrive so who knows when.  I hope the people that need the shots get them.  I read the controversy re the inmates in prison having access to the shots and I found that very interesting.

I am so sorry to hear Michelle had another nasty headache.  Has she ever used the drug Topamax?  Here is a link you may find helpful. 

Well one more week of waiting but I sure do understand that the long drive would not have been good for you. 

Hope you get some feelers back on your apps your sending out.  My hubby worked all 3 shifts and switched every week.  He took early retirement due to the fact that the swing shifts were not good for his health.

Kitt, I feel like my last friend at work is leaving. No one else at the school seems to want to develop a friendship beyond a hi or smile in the hallway. They seem to want to only associate with others in their own grade and my new coworker for my grade (the only other first grade teacher) doesn't talk to me that much. I made her mad at me the first few weeks (she misunderstood me) and she has been trying to limit her time with me to the very minimum.
We also have different theories about how to teach and she won't give on any of my view points. When we make lesson plans SHE makes the plans and I type. If I make a suggestion she shoots me down. >:((

Hope you all had a great weekend--they do fly by quickly, don't they? I finally finished my report cards. I've got parent conferences the next couple of weeks, but I think I'm ready.

I had the seasonal flu and pneumonia shots in August--foolishly thinking that they'd have the H1N1 ready by October. No such luck. You're so lucky that you were able to get it! Good job! My husband has been calling the County Health Department and my doctor's office pretty much daily, but no luck. They are holding a H1N1 clinic on November 23, but it's kids only. Working with kids puts me even more at risk for getting the virus. I'm just doing my best keeping my hands washed, not touching my face, doing nasal washings and gargling often...whatever I can do to try to avoid infection. Wish me luck!

Yes, I've had allergy shots--probably for the past nearly 20 years. They don't solve all my problems, but have helped. Over the past two years, though, I've had many more problems. Spring is out of control...the tree pollen is debilitating. Before the Nissen, my asthma doc was also talking Xolair. Now that my asthma has improved, I'm hoping I won't need it. I'm getting retested for allergies on Friday (if I can stay healthy). I'm hoping that he will figure out what is causing my increased allergy symptoms.

It sounds like you've got plenty to deal with. Good luck with your bladder. I'm sure you don't want to go through another surgery, but it could really improve you quality of life. Hope everything goes well for you.

I will be back to doing auto repairs. Been doing some out of my garage the last couple weeks and remember I like to do that. I will be the lead mechanic of the shop. Basically the other mechanics answer to me and I answer to the store manager. Seems I went there jus at the right time. They were getting pretty desperate to get someone to motivate their mechanics. The acting store manager said they aren't "hungry" and don't do anything beyond the basics. HE means they aren't money hungry and won't look for anything to up sell on the cars. If the customer isn't complaining about it they don't worry about it. Not saying they should sell things that aren't needed, but most people aren't aware of mos vehicle problems until they show up as drastic issues. Like a a worn steering or suspension part, a leak, or worn brakes that haven't started to squeal or grind yet. The store manager was pretty frustrated with his crew. He said he went behind them and found an additional $12,000 dollars worth of things they didn't bother to write down. Of course he wasn't able to sell all of it, but they may come back later. I think this will be a good fit for me. Gets me back to a leadership role.

Thanks.... How's the sleeping been? What about the muscle cramps? For me sleep has been very little at a time again. Can't sleep more than a couple hours at best. That's due to the cramps and the ribs. I go to Loyola about the ribs Wednesday. I had to talk with a company nurse today about my pre employment physical. They wanted to make sure I was released for work after my surgeries. Some of which were 2 to 3 years ago.

Denise- Good luck with the parent teacher conferences. All of you who are in the child teaching/ care fields have a thankless job.

Kitt- How's your week starting off? Hope all is well.

Hello Everyone,

I just played with my dog for an hour as I have not had much time to see him with working and his being at my daughter's so much for training. He is still a big old 65 lb 11 month old puppy and jumps right up on my lap on the loveseat.  I swear he smiles when I am scratching behind his ears.

Bill, congratulations to you, your new job is just what you needed.  Something new and good going on for you and no night shifts.  I hope this works out well for you.  (((((((((Hugs)))))))))).

I ended my week last Friday at the Grade School and felt sad leaving as I know they were looking forward to their regular nurse returning which of course they would be as she is part of their group and I was pinch hitting.  But on the up side, I know I did the very best I could so I am proud of that.   Today I spent the day at the Senior High, 1600 students and little ole me as the school nurse.  It went well and I work there again on Wednesday afternoorn and then on to the middle school for Thursday and Friday.  I love the middle school as I work with another gal who is great fun and we both have warped senses of humor. 

Barb, I am so glad to read you had a good time at the Zoo.  I have never seen the Pandas, how sweet they must be.  I do like the monkey exhibit here however.........LOL.  And the dolphins too. 

Joy, I understand exactly how you feel when your peers are not friendly and you feel like your walking on eggshells.  I so wish people could just get along and see the good in each other.  We all have our good sides and working together can be fun.  You should work with me................I love to enjoy my work and can work with anyone well if they let me.

Denise,  Thank you for the great support and help you have provided to the newbies as always and when I see you have responded I do not worry but keep on moving with what I need to do.  :)

Congratulations on your new job! That shop is lucky to have you. It's obvious through your posts that you'll be a terrific supervisor. I'm so glad that you've found something that gets you away from those big, heavy, dangerous blades! We'll sleep easier knowing you're safely working on cars ! Now we've just got to get you feeling better and getting rid of that pain! We're with you!

I'm glad to hear that your lungs are doing better. It's rough having asthma--we'll have to give lots of support and encouragement to Joy as she recovers from her severe asthma/pneumonia episode.

I still haven't gotten the H1N1 vaccine. Like Kitt, I'm around kids every day, and I'm doing my best to stay healthy. Another of my students is home with the flu--another one just got back on Monday, after being out over a week.
I hope you continue to do well...I've got to work on those Keagles, too! It's such an easy thing to do, but so hard to remember!

We've all got to step up our responses to members while Kitt has a well-deserved break from this big responsibility. She is so good, and kind to everyone. She definitely deserves a break and a chance to take care of herself. (We're here for you, Kitt!)

And I confess I've not read the thread, and I know many of you are going through so much. I hope you'll accept my apologies!

My heartburn is returning, along with developing a cough and some days even my stomach is starting to get into the act. Have an appointment with a new GI doc on Nov. 24, but have very limited insurance.

Anyway, I'll stick my nose over now and then, but know I really think of you far more than you know! This is a great group!

And I am getting pretty good with my MOOOOing!!!!

Glad you enjoyed the Doggy photo day. They still haven't figured out the muscle cramp thingy. I went to see my PCP yesterday because I have gotten a horrible sinus infection that is now stuck in my chest too. Gotta love the kids sharing! Anyway, he said he still hasn't figured it out. They have done several blood tests too. Oh well, just something else to live with.

I did get the new job. I start Monday the 23rd. Wanted to start this coming Monday, but the store manager is busy with his bosses for 3 days and wants to be able to start things the right way.
Well I am going to take some more cough medicine and try to get some sleep.
