I had a second lap Nissen surgery because the first one slipped. My second surgery was in June. I have a lot of left sided discomfort, and oftentimes my throat/esophagus feels tight. Does this come from scar tissue or maybe damaged nerves?
An upper GI/Barium swallow apparently didn't show anything abnormal, and two months ago I had an upper endoscopy and it was normal. But can there be something they are not telling me?

Could be an overly tight wrap along with some associated nerve issues. They take a long time to heal. The redos are a lot harder than the original and I hope you had a surgeon who specializes in the redos. I had my redo on May 18th, spent 3 weeks in the hospital from having 2 holes leaking in my stomach. That part is pretty good now, I can eat anything I want and don't have any real dysphasia to speak of.

Kent I have been feeling the same way for 2 weeks now. I had my surgery 11 weeks ago, yesterday. I too have a tight wrap and i'm starting to think that maybe its just because the esophogus has to work harder to get food down. I'm hopeing that like any other muscle, it will just get stronger instead of getting damaged by having to work so hard. My discomfort also happens why I excert myself with anything heavier than a gallon of milk.

I'm going to be making an appt. this week to get an upper scope done soon and hopefully my specialist can give me some answers.
